Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest professional co-ed business fraternity in the nation. Here at the
University of California, Davis our members come from various fields of study, each contributing a unique
perspective and in turn, producing a well-rounded organization. Every year Alpha Kappa Psi hosts our
semi-annual career fair, Networking For Success (NFS). We would like to cordially invite your company to
attend.
Networking For Success is our unique spin on the timeless career fair/ networking event. Rather than
filtering through countless candidates in a random manner, our event is set up in as a weeklong series of
events, allowing your recruiters to obtain a more personal connection to attendees, and allowing our student
body several days of networking and professional development. Our NFS week is set up so that each day
carries a particular theme, leading up to our case competition at the end of the week. Throughout the week
we allow companies like yours to come and interact in several ways with our student body in an intimate
setting, allowing for your recruiters to quickly spot qualified candidates who fit your company and the job
description. The candidates that will be at our event will most likely be highly prepared, demonstrate
familiarity with your organization, and have intelligent questions to ask. Whether your company is recruiting
interns or full-time employees, our organization boasts some of the most motivated and ambitious students
in Davis.
Alpha Kappa Psi is an organization focused on preparing undergraduate students for the professional

WHAT IS NFS?
Networking For Success has been a long-standing tradition with the Alpha Kappa Psi – Upsilon Psi Chapter. Our
event is hosted twice a year and works to match with your company’s hiring cycle or professional ambitions that
you wish to share with our students. Whether your company is hosting a workshop/lecture or attending one of
our particular recruitment days, NFS allows for a more personal interaction between your company
representatives, future candidates, and the student body. Unlike large career fairs or workshop events that host
hundreds of students, our strategic marketing focuses on students that match the goals and ambitions of our
organization.
WHAT IS A CASE COMPETITION?
A case competition is an opportunity for students to display skills and knowledge on a “real world” case aimed at
allowing these students to analyze available information, craft a solution, and defend their recommendations.
A case competition starts with the presentation of a business "problem", usually presented as a short story (or
"case") with accompanying data and exhibits to illustrate key aspects of the situation. Teams of students are
then asked to identify how they would solve the problem and present their solution to a panel of judges, who
evaluate the analysis and the effectiveness of their presentation.
HOW DOES NFS WORK?
Implementing an NFS week rather than one event this year, will allow for an even greater opportunity at one-on-
one interactions with candidates. Depending on what your company decides to partake in, you may be able to
host a workshop/lecture for the student body, engage with students in one of our recruitment days, or even host
our case competition each providing you unique opportunities at recruiting or simply sharing your ideas.
