3. Inventory…Inventory management is a manually intensive and tedious process. Many bars rarely do full
inventory of their stock, if they even do it at all.

4. Shrinkage…
“Shrinkage” refers to loss of inventory, or inventory that is not sold. This loss is due
to theft, over-pouring, bottles breaking, spills, and so on. It is a major problem bar
and restaurant owners have to deal with.
Because the inventory process is so time consuming, most bars do not
do it on a daily basis, leaving them unaware of real shrinkage costs.
Not knowing what inventory consists of on a daily basis, leaves bars at
risk of running out of stock before the next reorder.
On average, the restaurant and bar industry lose
about 23% sales to shrinkage; over five billion
annually!
