Open innovation is about behavior
• If we want open innovation we need to help people
change their behavior into new creative behaviors
that lead to new results
• We can learn from animals the rules about how to
change behaviors
• Ivan Pavlov started conditioning a dog and received
the Nobel Prize
• I conditioned a parakeet and I got my PhD and my
Expert Center in Behavioral Change ADRIBA

What is open innovation?
If we want open innovation we should take six steps:
1. Specify the behavior
2. Measure the behavior
3. Understand why their is the current level of the behavior
(ABC-analysis)
4. Feedback of the measurement, like the scores in sports
5. Set goals
6. Reinforce the attainment of goals
7. 11-9-2013 7
Conclusion
• The best way for open innovation is positive
reinforcement of new behaviors
• So we need positive leaders who know exactly
what they do
• If we stimulate new behaviors with the help of
the natural science of behavior analysis we have
the best chance for succes
• All the best!
