4. Introduction.
E.coli
Is a gram-negative
coliform bacteria
that is commonly
found in the lower
intestine of
of warm-blooded
organisms.
Epigenetics
Is the study of
potentially heritable
changes in gene
expression that does
not involve changes
to the underlying
DNA sequence.
5. Bacteria make natural
pigment from sugar.
Four strains of bacteria E.coli make red
anthocyanin, pigment found in
strawberries in just one step in a natural
way.
6. The research was made in the Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute (NY,USA).
The Researchers feed bacterias E.coli with
glucose; the entire pathway is divided
among four strains of E.coli.
7. The first bacteria eat the glucose to
liberate the first intermediate that is
eat by the second bacteria and so on
until the last bacterium releases
anthocyanin.
8. So many people on trade are interested in buying
the natural pigment because it reduces the
harmful effects caused by the chemical
pigments.
9. Students opinion
In my opinion this is an amazing research that
could be the beginning of something bigger.
First I think that this pigments are better for
health tat the chemicals pigments but also
now we know that we can make many
products with bacterias help like pigments for
food and cosmetics and maybe in the future
we can make so many more things.
10. Epigenetic between the
generations: we inherit more
than just genes.
For so many years the question about if epigenetic
modifications can cross the cross the border of
generations, but a research made in Alemany is the
beginning of the answer; the research show that
epigenetic instructions contribute in regulating gene
expression in the offspring.
11. the researchers discovered that not
only the epigenetic information can
modulate the expression of some
genes also it could be vital for the
surviving of the new specie.
12. in the past the scientifics believe
that all the epigenetic memory
accumulated throughout life is
entirely cleared during the The
development of the embryo but with
this research in flies they could see
that the epigenetic infomation can
pass between generations, but now
they are triying to explain completily
how.
13. Epigenetic marks can also change
throughout our life and in response
to our environment or lifestyle, that
is one of the reasons of importance
because the good or bad habiss of
one person can pass trough their
generations
14. Students opinion
In my opinion this research is an
answer of how the epigenetic
memory but not only ours also our
ancestors epigenetic memory can
affect our health , and maybe with
this we can clarify the origin and the
possible solution of many diseases .
16. Medical utility.
the epigenetics research is a big
step to explain how the inherit of
information between generations can
cause diseases in the future
generations because bad habits, but
this discovering also can give us a
clue of how to treat the diseasses
caused by that.
17. Medical utility.
the discovery of how we can produce
natural pigments from glucose and
bacterias show us how is possible
modficted the bacterias with the
objective to produce natural
elements that can be usful for us,
like maybe in the future
medicaments or something like that.
18. Medical
utility.
chemical pigments would produce
harmful effects and some people
have allergy to these for example to
the tartrazine or yellow 5°; to use
the natural pigments can reduce the
harmful effects and the allergies so
many peoples health can improve.
