2. How are the men/women dressed? How much skin is revealed?
Men are fully dressed and women are in underwear/ bikinis.

There are more women than men and they are wearing less clothes, they are trying to
make themselves look attractive and desirable.

mugging, etc.?
Women dancing on/ around men and sitting playing poker in hardly any clothes, then
near the end there is a man and a woman swimming and kissing.
5. Do the men/women have power? How do you know?
The men have the power and I can tell because the men are wearing full clothes making
the women look more vulnerable and sexually exploited and the men more powerful and
the women dance around them.
6. What’s the message of the song?
The message is that women should be available for men to use when they want to, and
that men are the more powerful sex.

1. Describe any sexually explicit body language:
In most of the video Miley is wearing hardly any clothes and in some parts is wearing none
at all, she also in part of the video licks a sledgehammer and the sledgehammer is
depicted as a falec symbol.
2. Who is more sexualized – men or women? Both?
Women are sexualized without men being there because she is seen as the weaker sex
and is naked for most of the video and partakes in things such as swinging on a
wrecking ball naked and licking sledgehammers.
3. Are there sexually explicit lyrics or messages?
No there aren’t any explicit lyrics but there are a lot of explicit images throughout the
video.
4. How are subjects of the music video dressed?
Hardly wearing anything and at points wearing absolutely nothing, depicting her as a
sexual object.

1. Describe the products that are highlighted in the video: (cars, jewelry, clothes, etc.)
At the beginning there is a birthday cake made out of money which he blows out the
candles with money by using it as a fan, and then it features different fast cars with
Lamborghini’s throughout.
2. Are any brand names shown?
Lamborghini’s, NY cap, Nike top and G unit top, which is his brand.
3. How is wealth defined in the video?
It is featured throughout with the lyrics like ‘I own new york’ ‘I’m stanky rich’ ‘I get
money’ which is the title of the song. He also features expensive cars and clothes and
women which shows he’s rich and women want to be with him because of it.

Coca- cola and Jaguar are mentioned in the lyrics which might be product placement or
might just be coincidence.

Directions: As you closely watch the music video, answer the following questions with
as much detail as possible.
1. Describe any violent lyrics in the song:
There aren’t any violent lyrics in the video. But there are links to the video because the
video is in the style of a movie trailer (a QuintinTarrentino type film) and there is a lyric in
the song that says : ‘ The actors here have not got a clue’
2. Describe any violent body language:
In the video there is a lot of fist fighting/ sword fighting and use of guns in the video and is
supposed to be like a QuintinTarrentino Movie but not in a parody way. The two main
character are also two half naked women killers.
3. Describe any violent actions or weapons that are shown:
There is use of guns, swords, knives and fist fighting in the video. There is a shootout in a
cowboy type town.
4. Describe any self-mutilation or violence:
In the beginning of the video there is a woman assassin and she has intercourse with her
target and then strangles him to death with a chain.
5. What’s the message of the song?
The song surprisingly, from the lyrics, is a love song but the video for it is violent and
features half naked girls which may be a metaphor for the love but I don’t know.
