Performance Reviews and 360 Feedback Excerpts
Yearly performance feedback
“He communicates very well and readily on hi-profile issues.” – Joshua Kerley
“Caleb has demonstrated his leadership on several occasions offshore while working with multiple
contractors and vendors, and has called for onshore support when he recognized the need for others
expertise. He has a strong technical capability, which has led him into being primarily responsible for an
RCFA of the hydraulic pressure losses within the Marlin and King subsea fields.” – Joshua Kerley
“I believe Caleb’s work ethic is very strong and he has developed into a productive Phase 1 Challenge
engineer. Second half of year posed many challenges with tight deadlines for him, but he was able to manage
his time well and seek support for technical challenges as needed. He has built great rapport with the Marlin
Asset LT and works very well with the offshore LT.” – Dave Turner
“Caleb has been a welcome addition to the Subsea Production Operations Team. He has gone up the
learning curve rapidly to become a positive asset to SPOT. He is Customer and Delivery focussed and he
has very good team working skills, essential for achieving results through the organization. A very good
start.” – Dave Turner
“I was particularly impressed with his ability to pull together multiple contractors and prioritize operations
from the boat while managing conflicts/priorities with the Nile P&A project.”
– Joshua Kerley
“He showed a great balance of technical capability, communication, and leadership. In particular, his
willingness to learn, and eagerness to improve is excellent. His time on my team was cut short due to his
extensive support of the Deepwater Horizon incident, from which he received very positive performance
feedback.” – Mark Roberson
“Caleb has built a great foundation of safety, technical, leadership, and delivery competence here in Subsea
Operations. I am confident that he be a great contributor in his future roles.”
– Mark Roberson
“As SPA for the Containment Disposal Project (CDP), I would rate Caleb’s performance as flawless.
Any Engineer, regardless of tenure would find the situation on board the HOS Achiever difficult given
the necessity to install commission and operate a system that was conceived and built in record time.
Despite these challenges Caleb and Sean Hale proactively assumed the role of Subsea installation &
commissioning when the commissioning team found themselves resource constrained. Caleb remained
on duty for significant periods offshore, always attentive to operations and providing the necessary
feedback to onshore management and support staff. Once onshore, Caleb continually checked with me to
return offshore despite knowing that his Challenge training and deliveries would suffer. I am forever
grateful for Caleb’s contribution on CDP and his unselfish behavior and willingness in support of the
mission objectives.” – Mark Siegmund
“Caleb has taken the lead role in drafting our weekly reports and is doing a great job. He interfaces with the
teams to get the information required and the reports are generally in very good form at first review. I
appreciate his attention to detail.” – Kathy Krafft
“Caleb,
Your hard work and participation this recruiting season was exceptional, please feel free to forward this
note to your manager. And if they have any questions feel free to tell them they can contact me at any
time.
Thanks for all you do,
Phoebe Heard
“As the site visit project manager I am happy to say that the challengers played a VERY
important role. Ultimately without them the site visits would not have been such a success.
Their interaction with the graduate student invitees was a key part to the sell of BP to potential
hires.
Throughout this process I relied completely on Caleb Stevenson to be the Lead contact to
coordinate this HUGE recruiting and challenger participation effort.
Caleb's reliability and quick responsiveness was key in this effort. I relied on Caleb to not only
provide challengers for dinners, lunches, tours and panel discussions, but also to make sure the
challengers he assigned were the appropriate disciplines as well as making sure we were
equipped with what they needed as it relates to discussion points, etc.
This past falls recruiting season was flawless as Caleb showed great leadership in his
execution and participation. Additionally, it was wonderful to watch Caleb as he
interacted/communicated with the students because he always showed and shared his passion
as a challenger, passion for BP, passion for Safety and his passion to provide them with
whatever information they needed at all times . He has a keen ability to draw attention to the
listeners as well as pull information from them when needed.
I watched as he delegated responsibility to various challengers and always wanted to know if
things went right. He would always make sure there were no problems along the way and was
willing to make any adjustments to schedules at the last minute.
I have always felt that a team is as good as their leader and Caleb as the leader not only made
my job easier but enabled the challengers to do the great job they did during this recruiting
season as well.
Caleb Exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds!!” – Phoebe Heard
“Caleb is very proactive at seeking out and presenting pertinent safety moments to share with the team.” –
Kathy Krafft
“Caleb takes on new assignments with a can-do attitude and networks well within BP to find the right
expertise and resources to progress issues.” – Kathy Krafft
“Caleb has done a great job as the lead Project Engineer for delivery of the 822-5 well. He has been involved
in the risk assessments, closure of actions and preparation of the Start-up Assurance Review and has
managed all very well. He has handled a number of technical MoC's that have required coordination of cross-
discipline teams to come up with solutions and his skills have grown in facilitating and managing these
challenges.” – Kathy Krafft
“Caleb demonstrates a commitment to safety and quality in his work. He has no issues with the Code of
Conduct. He visibly demonstrates a One Team approach and that has been supported by feedback I have
received. He is integrated well with Base Management and Wells team which supports One Team
delivery.” – Kathy Krafft
“Caleb has done an excellent job at delivering his responsibilities of the TH Infill Project in 2013 and his
contributions are appreciated. He places high priority on safety and demonstrates his commitment by
regularly presenting out safety moments. He has grown in his ability to manage various challenges across the
functional teams, finding resolution and delivering the path forward. He has demonstrated this in completion
of a number of MoC's which required input across teams and in preparing for project readiness to bring 822-5
online in 2014. He works with a One Team approach that is recognized across teams. I look forward to his
contributions in 2014.”
– Kathy Krafft
“Caleb has been an excellent champion of safety awareness in our project team. I also note that Caleb
identified a shortcoming in the WL4 parking structure and submitted recommendation to Facilities for
improvement in the pedestrian crossing areas.”
– Lucy Gebhart
“Caleb was a very effective coordinator for the additional work that was identified for 822-5 operational
readiness, and to meet the BSEE requirements for approval to operate. His organizational skills were
demonstrated here, and this gave him an excellent opportunity to demonstrate leadership of a team of
engineers from many disciplines, and interface management with other functions. After the well was started
up, he provided a summary for a GoM Subsea Townhall, where his presentation was excellent, delivered
clearly and he showed a natural ability for presenting in front of a diverse group. Caleb prepared a Helios
submittal, collecting input from other key participants. Caleb is an effective communicator, and his reasoning
and decision skills are strong.” – Lucy Gebhart
“Caleb's performance with respect to his short term (annual) objectives was exemplary. He met his
objectives and was available to backfill for others in his team during extended vacation periods in July
and October. Caleb is highly competent in developing a work plan and self-motivating himself to
accomplish most of his objectives.” – Lucy Gebhart
“Caleb is highly effective and engaging with his team and others. He is well liked and respected which
reflects on his professionalism, but more importantly embodies Respect and his focus on One Team. His
commitment to Safety is high and his work output is truly Excellent.”
– Lucy Gebhart
“Caleb has had the same manager for several years, and has been very open to learning how to work
with a new manager. He has been accepting of feedback from me. Caleb is a very
strong contributor and is self-motivating and meets - and regularly exceeds - expectations.”
– Lucy Gebhart
“In my opinion, Caleb exhibits maturity, skills and behaviours significantly higher that his current Grade. My
feedback has been shared with Discipline Capability and his Line Management. He is consistently delivers
his objectives and assignments, meeting deadlines in almost all cases. Most shortfalls on expectations are
minor and reflective of there not being enough opportunity in his current team/role to challenge him, so there
is the risk of him loosing focus on some activities which seem to have minor value or importance. I have the
highest regard for Caleb and know that he will continue to excel as a Project Engineer if given more
challenging assignments.” – Lucy Gebhart
Anonymous 360 Development Feedback
Caleb has great work ethics, keep it up. WE need Smart hard working people who are able to make a difference; Caleb is
capable and does all of this.
Continue clearly explaining new ideas and project details.
Caleb does a good job of reaching out to different functional groups to get their opinion on different scopes. This is a good
way of communicating and also reaching out to get insight from another perspective.
Caleb is well organized and prompt when it comes to conducting his Thursday meetings - from generating the slide pack, to
running the meeting, to sending out the meeting minutes. This is a great skill set that he could apply to other areas (which he
already does) to continue to improve his effectiveness.
I would say that gaining respect from your peers is equally as important as gaining respect from leadership. There are many
people I've met in this company who talk down to their peers or ignore their opinions while putting on a good face to
leadership. It's very clear that some people intend to "climb the ladder". Caleb interacts well with his peers so keep that up!
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Caleb. He promotes all of us being one team and getting to the end goal together
(1st oil). He has done a great job of keeping the details straight from each functional team and then collating those details
together to execute the delivery of his wells with excellence. Caleb needs to move to a role where he has direct reports and
develop leadership skills in managing people.
