Raise Up San Diego is a broad-based community coalition advocating for earned benefits and higher wages for San Diego workers. The coalition believes that no one should have to choose between caring for a sick loved one and losing pay, and that full-time work should lift people out of poverty. If successful, their policy would expand access to earned sick days for over 285,000 residents, increase wages for about 220,000 workers, raise impacted employees' annual earnings by an average of $3,000, and put more than $660 million into the pockets of low-income families.
