1. UNITY UNDER OUR GOD
1. In days gone by our ancestors roamed this land paying homage to our God “Baiame” and
the great ancestral spirits of our tribes, in ways undisturbed for thousands and thousands of
years.
This was the infancy of our peoples.
2. Then just over 200 years ago, the white strangers came to our land, the white missionaries
scorned us for being what we were and sought to change us into what they wanted us to
be. They took our children away from us so they could not be taught the ancient ways of
our ancestors, and punished us if we went against their will.
3. But some of us were strong and kept our Aboriginality alive. We saw the conflicting beliefs
of foreigners, Christians- Buddhist-Muhammadans, and we said to ourselves. We will keep
the flame of our own God “Baiame burning, for we are true Aboriginals, we are the Koori
people who honour our ancestors. We are the strong who will not weaken before alien
Gods, and we saw a great civilisation spring up around us, and all those things we held
sacred trampled underfoot in the name of an alien God and we were confused.
4. This was our growing pains. Let none of you complain that your sacred sites have been
desecrated. If you are not a true follower of Baiame, for your words will be false, for you
have given your-selves over to an alien God. In this you have no right to claim those things
which we and our ancestors held sacred.
5. We have learned to live in harmony with our white brothers, for we have grown up as a
people, but don't let that fool you into thinking that we will renounce our God, the God of the
forefathers, the Overlord of this Island continent. For we are true “Goori” people, and ask
that the God of our ancestors be respected. How can any ask us to respect them, if they do
not respect us?
6. We are the children of “Baiame”, we are called black-fellows, we ask all “Koori” people, who
will stand for the God of our ancestors, “Baiame”? Let them stand forward if they are true
“Koori”, and we shall find unity and purpose under our own true God.

Universe
1.The universe is eternal and its bounds are limitless, and within the universe is intelligence, and this eternal
intelligence that manifests itself as all living things, both temporal and spiritual, we call God.
2.God is life. God is the movement of all things, God is the spirit of the Universe.
3.That which is temporal and spiritual, and that which cannot retain the spiritual, becomes temporal again,
thus everything is a never ending cycle of matter and intelligent energies.
4.This eternal intelligence that manifests itself in all living things, is THE SUPREME GOD.
5.Temporal man becomes spiritual man and as spiritual man moves nearer to the central cause increasing in
his understanding and power, he becomes an individual god.
6.To Goori people, “BAIAME” is the first and foremost Koori god.
7.Through “BAIAME” the power of the SUPREME GOD flows in strength, thus he becomes one of the
embodiments of SUPREME GOD.
8.Through “BAIAME” we pay homage to the SUPREME GOD.
9.The beginnings of the Goori people is “BAIAME” who is the intermediary between his people and spiritual
force of the SUPREME GOD.
10.“BAIME” is overlord of the land of Pamanyungan, and the motivating spirit of the Ancient People.
11.The planet “KOBAH” shifted slightly off its axis and the land of “DIBAH BUDDEH” became colder and
colder as it moved towards the south pole.
12.The mountains became covered with frozen rain, turning them into glaciers and ice and snow covered the
land.
13.All life struggled hard to survive until at last the land lay silent in utter darkness, asleep, awaiting the
warmth and light of the sun to bring it to life again.
14.The “Old Ones” had carved their history, and the laws given to their ancestors by the great teacher
“ARUNGA”, upon the rocks, but the “Old Ones” had left the land of “DIBAH BUDDEH” for the warmer
climates of the north, and all lay buried beneath ice and snow.
15.As time went by, slowly the planet “KOBAH” began to right itself upon its axis and great fires from beneath
the surface began to burst forth, forming volcanoes, causing floods across the low lands.
16.“YAHI”, the spirit of the sun, moved across the land giving warmth and life to the seeds that had laid
dormant beneath the snow and ice, and the land awoke from its long sleep.
17.The spirit of “Baiame” moved towards the earth, and it was then that the spirits of “MANIDJIRANGAMAD”
became born into the land and named it “PAMANYUNGAN”.
18.In the centre the primal cause of re-creation was” YAHI” a goddess of the sun.
19.Not the sun itself, but a spirit of the sun, the great mother spirit, richly endowed and prolific but yet spirit,
whose power was manifested in thought and through other agencies, in action.
20.The agency through which she worked before her departure was one known variously as “BAIAME”,
“SPIRIT FATHER” or “ALL FATHER”.
21.“BAIAME”, the male counterpart of the female “YAHI” the sun goddess, was not only her representative,
but as her alter ego, partaking of her divinity.
22.To him she had entrusted the task of forming and caring for all animal life of the land, in its infinite variety.
23.The form and intelligence of Goori people, was also entrusted to the Father spirit, who felt his
responsibility keenly and determined to proceed cautiously by imparting his superior element into his
charges, thus they were formed in the image of his own eternity.
24.The Father Spirit “BAIAME” shared his creative force with his brother spirits, “BUNJEL”, “KARORA”,
“NOORALIE”, and “MUNGAN-NGOUR” and from these came the tribes of “PAMANYUNGAN”- (AUSTRALIA).
