10.10 ANTONY DONATES MOFO FUNDS TO CONSERVATION COUNCIL
Conservation of indigenous land is a hot topic in the Australian community.
But for Antony, from Antony and the Johnsons, one particular community is in
dire need of help.
The Martu community, in the Pilbara, is in threat of being mined for uranium
by International powerhouses Cameco and Mitsubishi.
The Conservation Council along with Antony and Artist Lynette Wallworth
aim to stop the proposed mine from displacing the community and destroying
the sacred land through various projects.

10.30 GOVT FACES SENATE INQUIRY INTO ARTS FUNDING

After the release of the Federal Budget artists were up in arms over the loss
of millions of dollar in funding.

Every morning we take it for granted that we can grab a bowl out of our
cupboards and fill it with cereal whatever you may fancy -
But not all of us are so lucky.
Empty Bowls is a project that start in Michigan, 1990 has come to Perth and is
being supported by Perth Potters and Ceramicists.

It aims to help hungry West Australians and currently contains 492 bowls that
are to be sold with all proceeds going to Foodbank.

It's no secret that travelling the world and being aboard is an experience to
remember.
Landscape Photographer Juha Tolonen has something to say about this -
After spending (HOWEVER LONG) in (WHEREVER HE HAS RETURNED
FROM).
Previous he has produced images of Wastelands from all over Australia and
Europe and worked on an project called Finlandisation -
A term that literally means 'to become like Finland'.
Juha is accustomed to uprooting his life but is back in Perth to share is
experiences through the lens...
