This study aims to explore further the ethical implications of Facebook that “whistle-blower”
Frances Haugen claims and to examine the impact they have on our society.

4. WHO IS FRANCES HAUGEN?
 Frances Haugen is a former Facebook employee, she
left Facebook back in 2021.
 Before leaving she released some internal research
about Facebook and the harms and damages of the
corporation.

10. HATE + VIOLENCE ON FACEBOOK
 Haugen claims that Facebook incites hate not just in America but also
around the globe.
 Haugen: Facebook today is “tearing our societies apart and causing
ethic violence around the world,”
 The 2018 genocide in Myanmar is an example of Facebook affecting
global societies
 Facebook has admitted that their platform was used to foment
discord and instigate offline violence in Myanmar in 2018.
 Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg has conceded that the firm didn't
do enough to enforce its policies in Myanmar.
 December 6, 2021: Rohingya refugees are suing Facebook parent
Meta for more than $150 billion over what they say is the company's
failure to stop hateful posts that incited violence against the group by
Myanmar's military rulers and their supporters.
