1. Uploading Your index.html to
the Web
Your ESU Web Space

2. File NOTES
index.html -Always the default page for
the folder.
Keep all images or Files in the same
folder as your web page.
Never put spaces in a name:
USE….UPPER and lowercase, -- and _ to
separate words.

4. Your ESU Web Space
As a student, you have been allocated
some “property” on the Web
ESU’s web server has a spot for you!
All you need to do is upload your files to
your web space, and
Give out the “Web Address” or “URL”
Then your files will be viewable on the
Internet

5. Step 1: What Do You Need To Know?
Know your:
Server: sallie.esu.edu
 SALLIE – Web FOLDER
Account username = studentusername
Account password = ESU password

6. Step 2: Drag your index.html to WEB
Log on to a computer on
ESU
Go into your where you
have index.html
Open Sallie
Drag your index.html file
to the your WEB folder

7. DRAG your webpage into the web folder
WEB
Check & make sure that it is in

8. Explanation of what you did!
You just put your index.html and your
images into your ftp server.
 Reminder: Anything put in the web
folder is live on the web. If it is not in the
folder you cannot see it on the web.

9. Step 4: View the Web Page on the
Internet
Open a new window in your web browser (Explorer,
Firefox etc.
Type the URL:
www7.esu.edu/username
You should see your web page.
CONGRATULATIONS! You are live on the Web!
