SETTING THE SCENE
It’s showtime! After eight long grueling months of no fantasy football, not to mention countless hours invested in research, the league’s
twelve team owners are chomping at the bit to get this party started! Some will ultimately reap a bountiful harvest, live to reach the second
season, while others will curse the day they ever asked the question, “What is fantasy football?” In the end, only one team will be left
standing. They, and they alone, will be crowned World Champions of Fantasy Football. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The long and
winding road to the world title is riddled with potholes, and the journey to the summit starts right here, right now. So, let the games begin!

Jaymin lead the series 11-3-0
CHINA’S JAYMIN have an awfully tough start in defense of their world title. With Adams, Jeudy, Barkley, Harris and Lamar Jackson,
GREAT BRITAIN’S MEN OF STEEL are poised to open the season with a resounding bang! And what better way to do that than to hand
the world champions their heads? If playing at home versus on the road really does matter, then the advantage clearly has to go in the
Men of Steel’s favor. Case in point: Excluding Adams, all the aforementioned players are competing at home. On the other hand, eight
of the Jaymin’s nine projected starters are on the road. But, make no mistake, the Jaymin are stacked to the hilt with talent, including
wideouts Diggs and Kupp, along with TE George Kittle. Backs Dobbins, Etienne, and Waddle, and Tagovailoa are mid-2nd tier, but
collectively, they are more than capable of doing serious damage.

BLEEDING BLUE, MX (0-0-0) AT BIG DAWGS, USA (0-0-0)
Bleeding Blue by -4
Big Dawgs lead the series 7-6-0
Here’s the deal with MEXICO’S BLEEDING BLUE’S starting corps. They passed up the opportunity to get Kupp and Kelce in July’s draft
for the 3rd highest rated QB in Jalen Hurts. Wideouts Allen and Brown are past their prime, and Watson will be facing double- and
sometimes triple-coverage almost every play. With Chubbs and Pollard, they’re set at running back. Same applies at tight end, with
5. Schultz and Ertz waiting in the wings. The USA’S BIG DAWGS are almost a carbon copy of their adversary.Their backs include Jacobs
and Pierce while Dallas Goedert anchors the TE spot. Where the Big Dawgs seem to have more umph is at wide receiver, i.e., Godwin,
Kirk and the Lamb-Prescott duo. The vast majority of both teams’ starters are on the road, which makes it even more crucial for each
player to, at the very least, match their projected numbers.

6. DRAGONES, MX (0-0-0) AT STORMYOZ, AU (0-0-0)
Dragones by -19
Dragones lead the series 7-0-0
Seeing the scenario between MEXICO’S DRAGONES and AUSTRALIA’S STORMYOZ is a lot like watching a fat Louisiana bullfrog hop
across a backroad and right out of nowhere comes a huge semi-truck. You see what is about to happen, you try to look away, but you
just can’t resist. Splat! Sadly, the bullfrog is no more. In this case, StormyOZ is that bullfrog. Their key starters are Goff, Montgomery,
Swift, Pickens, and Pitts. They’ve each put up great numbers from time to time. The problem is, those times were very, far and so very,
very few between. So much so that the odds, which teeter on the sublime, just don’t look promising for a 200-point day for the team Down
Under. Now the Dragones aren’t the strongest roster in the league, but with the likes of Jefferson, Henry, Sanders, Waller, Herbert, and
that amazing ‘Niners defense, they are certainly powerful and explosive enough to make an easy go of it against StormyOZ.

7. SHANGHAI WANG, CN (0-0-0) AT PROCTERS, USA (0-0-0)
Shanghai Wang by -4
Shanghai Wang leads the series 6-3-0
Without a doubt, CHINA’S SHANGHAI WANG has one of the league’s top-3, richest and deepest rosters. Their receiving corps is a literal
who’s who: Hill, Metcalf and Samuels as the primary starters, with Cooper, McLaurin and Pittman ready to fill in in case of injuries and
during the byes. That’s a ton of talent. Backs Cook and McCaffery are amongst the best, but their backups are mediocre. Toss in Lawrence
at QB, and you’ve got one heckuva fantasy squad. The USA’S PROCTERS can also boast a stout running game, with Ekeler, Stevenson,
Robinson, and Damien Harris to fill in when need be. However, Stevenson’s situation might be compromised now that Zeke Elliott is in a
Patriots uniform. At wideout, the Procters are dangerously thin, much like they were this time, last year. Because of that, they finished 3-
11-0. All they have are Dotson and DJ Moore. Either one of them underperforms or goes down for the count, then the Procters are
doomed long-term, and that could be as early as their season opener.

MIGHTY CYCLONES, USA (0-0-0) AT REMIS ISLAND, CA (0-0-0)
Game even
Remis Island leads the series 6-5-0
Like last year, the USA’S MIGHTY CYCLONES are all-in at wideout and at the expense of their running game. With the three-headed
beast consisting of Chase, Brown and Smith, followed by Bateman, Sutton and Thomas, that’s an awful lot of big play weapons to shuffle
in and out of the starting lineup. The Mighty Cyclones don’t have a top-10 caliber back per se, but 4 of the five they do have are starting
backs for their respective teams; with the exception being Leonard Fournette, who we might see reemerge in a big way at some point of
the season. CANADA’S REMIS ISLAND’S situation is just the opposite. They have a whole corral of rushers, including Mixon, Jones
and a long list of former starters turned backups. The good news is, they also have wide receivers Evans and Lockett. The bad news is
that’s all they have at wideout position. Whatever Remis Island lacks, Travis Kelce is there to pick up the slack, enough so that it would
enable Remis Island to keep things close enough to squeak out the win in the end. At least that’s what the hope is.

RUSSIAN HACKERS, RU (0-0-0) AT BOWL BOUND MAVERICKS, UK (0-0-0)
Bowl Bound Mavericks by -5
Bowl Bound Mavericks lead the series 6-4-0
The best way to describe RUSSIA’S RUSSIAN HACKERS’ situation is a cup half-full. They’re full with Fields and Stafford at quarterback,
and at running back they have Bijan Robinson teaming up with Jonathan Taylor. With Engram and Okonkwo, their TE position ain’t half
bad, either. Yet, their wideout position is comprised of either hot ‘n cold receivers, namely Diontae Johnson, or secondary and third
targets, such as Higgins, Olave and Elijah Moore. That poses a tremendous challenge going tit-for-tat with GREAT BRITAIN’S BOWL
BOUND MAVERICKS, who possess Cooks, Gallup, Hopkins, and Wilson. Moreover, with Zeke Elliott joining forces with Breece Hall,
plus future Hall of Fame quarterbacks Mahomes and Rodgers behind center, the Bowl Bound Mavericks have all the ingredients that
make up a solid contender.
