New experimental, contemporary theatre group coming to Northeast Ohio
(TWINSBURG) With its first production targeted for later this year, EDGE THEATRE PROJECT
is the beginning of a new dramatic arts venue that aims to bring audiences provocative,
daring, and experimental performances.
“We want audiences to walk away from our shows with a sense that they've just seen
something different and utterly compelling,” says Edge Theatre Project’s President,
Adrienne Cvetkovic. Cvetkovic has been active in theatre since childhood.
Indeed, many of EDGE THEATRE PROJECT’s board members are longtime veterans of the
stage and share Cvetkovic’s vision of a new venue to develop and explore works that touch
on politics, social justice, sexuality, identity, and other matters relevant to today’s
headlines.
Whether darkly serious or comically irreverent, EDGE THEATRE PROJECT’s productions are
intended to challenge people’s perceptions…both of the world and the performing arts.
"We certainly intend to stand out as unique from other venues in the region," says Marc
Howard, Vice President of Edge Theatre Project and a long-time producer, choreographer,
and director.
“One way we’re doing that is by exploring raw, untapped, and disarming material that isn’t
your standard community theatre or even Broadway fare. At the same time, we’ll aim for
productions that are high-caliber and exceptional.”
