1. Make Your Own
Body Scrub
Glass container for storage
1/4 cup of sugar - I like using brown
sugar
1/4 cup of ground coffee
1 cup approximately virgin organic
coconut oil
1 capsule Vitamin E (optional)
Method:
Mix all above ingredients - add more
or less if necessary. I would suggest
wetting your skin a bit first to open up
your pores and then massage the scrub
into the skin. Let it sit for five to 10 minutes
to allow the caffeine and coconut oil
to absorb properly into your skin. Rinse
off with warm water in the shower and
bathe as you would normally. Feel hot,
sexy and clean the right way.

1. Coconut oil
It’s a fantastic moisturiser for the face,
body and hair.
Helps the immune system to fight off
viruses and fungus (when consumed and
also when applied externally).
Normalises hormone, thyroid, and blood-
sugar levels; it also increases metabolism
and overall energy.
2. Skin Cleansing
When you wake up the BIGGEST mistake to make is to wash
your face with tonics, soaps and cleansers. Your body has
naturally created an oily protective layer during the night that
will nourish and keep your skin satisfied throughout the day.
When the skin is stripped of its natural fatty layer, it will become
either overly dry or overly oily, as it tries to compensate for a
lack of moisture by producing more oil. That why some of us
get caught up in skincare regimes that we can’t get out of
because we have made our skin dependant on products we
think will help.
My Recommended Morning Skincare Regime: First of all
choose a flower water that you like (my favourite is rose) then
an essential oil (it’s important to like the smell) - I love orange
and keep some good quality coconut oil in a jar.
Start off by spraying or sprinkling some rose water onto your
face then warm up some essential oil and coconut oil with
your hands before lightly applying it to the face like you would
a moisturiser.
What you put IN your body is as
important as what you put ON
your body. Considering most
of us have some kind of skincare regime
and use a lot of beauty products, not
many of us consider what is in them and
how they affect us.
Here are my tips for taking care of the skin you’re in.

3. Perfumes
Perfumes are not so good for your
health - or your wallet. Sense of
smell is heightened when you move
over to a cleaner way of eating.
I have personally stopped using
conventional perfumes as their smell
irritates me.
Instead I use essential oils (in small
amounts). My all-time favourite
natural perfume is called Sharini.
They are made in small batches,
are hand-picked and contain no
artificial substances whatsoever.
4. Body
Brushing &
Exfoliating
Listen up! Dry body brushing helps
shed dead skin cells (and encourages
new cell renewal) which results in
smoother and brighter skin.
It assists in improving vascular blood
circulation and lymphatic drainage.
By releasing toxins, you get rid of toxic
waste so the body is able to run more
effectively.
Dry skin brushing rejuvenates the
nervous system by stimulating nerve
endings in the skin and it feels pretty
great, too!
It helps your skin to absorb nutrients
by eliminating clogged pores. and,
in my experience, making your own
body scrub and using it to get rid of
dry old skin is doing something kind to
yourself. It sets you up for a nice day
and makes you generally feel better.

Skin covers all body surfaces. The
purpose of our skin is to protect against
injury, infection, heat, cold, and to store
water, fat and vitamins. Did you know
that skin is rejuvenated about once
every four weeks?
Thinking of your skin as an organ, rather
than something that we can use and
abuse, puts things in proper perspective.
Your skin is a wonderfully resilient organ
and, for the most part, can survive
virtually any form of punishment. The
skin is the body’s boundary, tough
enough to resist all sorts of environmental
attacks, yet sensitive enough to feel a
breeze. The skin also secretes fluids that
lubricates and barricades it from toxic
substances.
