The Indian retail industry has emerged as one of the most
dynamic and fast-paced industries due to the entry of several
new players. Total consumption expenditure is expected to
reach nearly US$ 3,600 billion by 2020 from US$ 1,824 billion
in 2017. It accounts for over 10 per cent of the country’s Gross
Domestic Product (GDP) and around 8% of the
employment.India is the world’s fifth-largest global destination
in the Retail space.

Today’s top-performing shopping malls are
essentially mixed-use businesses that
incorporate social entertainment options,
provide a unique appeal along with a
considerable depth of shopping experience,
and are in prime destinations that are easily
accessible by both public and private
transport. Moreover, the ability to anticipate
and align with changing consumer needs
make malls successful today.

It is well connected with other areas of
Ahmedabad with roads and BRTS stop
which is exactly in opposite of the mall.
The Mall is equipped with 120
shops with area varying from 3350
sq. ft. to 5000 sq. ft. Parking space
for about 60 cars and 400 two
wheelers is available with the
mall.
Context
The concept of running this mall is very
simple, which is enable retail business
holders to get a prominent place to undergo
their business in mall.
when it comes to managing such a mall
with so much diverse businesses it become
very important for mall managing people to
manage all of them with co-ordination
among all functions for smooth business

The first question answers to the agreeableness of
retail store owners at Galaxy Mall, on providing
additional parking space to the Mall Visitors at
weekends so as to increase footfalls on weekends.
About 54% people among the sample agreed it and
whereas 30% were unsure and only 16% disagreed.
This shows the positive attitude of retail owners
towards the question asked.
The second question answers to the agreeableness of retail store
owners at Galaxy Mall, on organizing Community Based Events
for the Mall Visitors so as to increase footfalls. About 60% people
among the sample agreed it and whereas 22% were unsure and
only 18% disagreed. This shows the positive attitude of retail
owners towards the question asked.
The third question answers to the agreeableness of
retail store owners at Galaxy Mall, on using latest
technology to the Mall Visitors, so as to attract more
footfalls. About 46% people among the sample agreed it
and whereas 32% were unsure and only 22% disagreed.
This shows a neutral reaction of retail owners towards the
question asked.

The fourth question answers to the agreeableness of
retail store owners at Galaxy Mall, on focusing more to
the existing Mall Visitors to make their visit more reliable.
so as to attract more footfalls through them. About 56%
people among the sample agreed it and whereas 34%
were unsure and only 10% disagreed. This shows the
positive attitude of retail owners towards the question
asked.
The fifth question answers to the agreeableness of retail
store owners at Galaxy Mall, recording feedback forms
from the Mall Visitors at so as to know more of what
visitors want at mall which can help them work on the
same and increase footfalls at mall. About 64% people
among the sample agreed it and whereas 32% were
unsure and only 6% disagreed. This shows the high level
of positive attitude of retail owners towards the question
asked.
The sixth question answers to the agreeableness of retail
store owners at Galaxy Mall, on getting endorsed from a
famous personality which could help them become more
popular among people and attract more visitors to mall.
About 44% people among the sample agreed it and
whereas 40% were unsure and only 16% disagreed. This
result showed that much people believed on this
endorsement part for attracting more customers to their
Mall.
The seventh question answers to the agreeableness of retail
store owners at Galaxy Mall, on organizing government camps
such as medical camps or awareness camps for letting more
people visit the mall for that purpose and get popular among
those visitors too. About 70% people among the sample agreed it
and whereas 20% were unsure and only 10% disagreed. This
shows the high level of positive attitude of retail owners towards
the question asked.

to the Galaxy Mall.
❖ It provides the reason for why Malls notice decrease in footfalls at their places which reduces the interest of
other people also who wanted their shop to be there, at that particular mall.
❖ It also shows the hindrance created by E-Commerce market to the retail industry of India and how adverse
its affect can be in future
❖ It even discusses the overall retail industry of our nation it’s growth, challenges and future prediction of that
industry.
❖ It gives the insights of what Retail Shop Owners at Galaxy mall think on those ways proposed by us for
increasing the footfalls at Galaxy Mall. This would make it easier for top management of Mall to further
decisions.

❖ This report gave an overall glimpse of Mall Industry and Retail Market of India, which helped the organization
in understanding the current standings of this industry in India.
❖ It also helped organization on getting notified of the problems due to which the malls face decline in footfalls
at their place.
❖ This project gave them the relevant information regarding the issues or we shall say the factors which would
have been active reasons for declining footfalls.
❖ We also discussed the ways which would help them in gaining the footfalls again back to their malls.
❖ The questionnaire which was filled by the retail shop owners of their own mall, will help them understanding
the insights of what they think or their opinion on the ways proposed by us to increase the footfalls at their
mall.
❖ The graphical representation of the data collected made it easier for the organization to understand the whole
excel data in an easy form.
❖ Along with this the decision making for further course of action by the top management was made easier with
the help of this report.
