Harley is a Labrador Retriever born on June 8, 2013 who is outgoing, loving, and has a strong appetite. Some of Harley's favorite foods include eggs, cheese, and vanilla ice cream. While Harley enjoys taking selfies, certain toys cannot withstand Harley's destructive tendencies. Labrador Retrievers generally require low maintenance grooming and training, make good watchdogs, and are well-suited for families with children due to their playful and affectionate nature. However, they need regular exercise and do best with access to a yard.

6. IS THE LABRADOR RETRIEVER THE
RIGHT BREED FOR YOU?
• Low Maintenance: Grooming is only necessary once in a while to maintain upkeep.
• Moderate and Seasonal Shedding: Expect this dog to shed regularly. Be prepared to vacuum often. Brushing will
reduce shedding as well as make the coat softer and cleaner.
• Easy Training: Training will be enjoyable. This dog is inclined to listen to commands and obey its owner. This breed
will require fewer repetitions to obey specific instructions, pleasing owners who like to see quick results.
• Great Watchdog Ability: This dog will bark and alert its owners when an intruder is present. It is not considered to
be a very protective breed. Therefore, it is unlikely to scare off intruders.
• Low Adaptability: It needs regular exercise for apartment living and is best with a large yard or acreage. This breed
is able to handle most types of hot and cold weather.
• Fairly Active: It will need regular exercise to maintain its fitness. Trips to the dog park are a great idea.
• Good with Kids: This is a suitable breed for kids and is known to be playful, energetic, and affectionate around
them.

Harley was one of 8 puppies, 5 girls and 3 boys
You have to spell out egg, cheese and ice cream. He knows these words better than some commands
I couldn’t ask for a better dog……most days
I think he listens better than my 13 year old!
Later in the presentation you will see what he does to stuffed animals. Ropes and tennis balls he shreds beyond recognition.
Labs are not for the faint of heart. He is a great watchdog, until someone has a frisbee then his family is forgotten. He really is great with my daughter – very protective. At times we can’t even hug her!
Here are just a few photos of our little joy. (notice the headless stuffed animal)
This is fairly accurate except he does not gingerly handle the socks!
