Gandalf (Wizard) - Where Saruman fails, he passes. Already among the wisest of
the wise, Gandalf must resist arrogance towards those of lesser wit and find
ways to be able to transfer his knowledge that he has accumulated throughout the
years. As a final passing he must learn to stand his ground and willingly accept
death in order for others to be able to escape. Unknowingly the fall into the
abyss while fighting off a demon is what transforms Gandalf the Grey into
Gandalf the White.

a servant leader. Aragorn does so by lower himself to the level of commoners
under the name of Strider. He grows stronger and wiser in the process allowing
him to rise to his full stature as he’s crowned King Aragorn.

those he loves even in the most dire of situations. Through mere dedication and
unbridled devotion he manages to carry on and never wavers in his task of loyalty
towards Frodo throughout the quest. It is Sam who manages to rescue Frodo from the
clutches of Shelob. Wounded by her poison, Frodo can no longer walk, and Sam
continues on headstrong to their destination by carrying Frodo the ring bearer.
5. Coherence
Clarity of thought, speech and emotional composure
The quality of being orderly, consistent and intelligible (e.g. a coherent
sentence).
Entirety:

Frodo (Warrior) Where Gollum fails. Of the four hobbits he’s the only one
carrying a dwarven mithril mail armor and an elven blade named Sting. Even though
he’s aware of his own limitations and his fears he is seen as the least. Even
when he accomplishes more than all those that went with him on this daring
endeavor. Even when he manages to destroy the ring and complete the task they set
out to do, he still can’t find the way to make peace with who he is. Possibly due
to the corruption of carrying the one ring throughout. At the end all he can do
is set about and leave the shire once more to the Undying Lands in hope of
recovery of his wounds and in search of new answers.
