A crowd of seven million gathered in the city center awaiting
the liftoff. The tension in the air was palpable as the massive
ship that the world had worked tirelessly for over four years
to construct was finally leaving its home planet. The crowd
included family, friends, acquaintances of the 200,000 person
crew. It included diplomats who came from all over the inner
solar system. BNXH091 was the focus of a massive
propaganda campaign.

Every child, man, and woman in the entire solar system,
including the outer, was well aware of BNXH091. This
propaganda campaign was the genius of the known political
strategist Jenny Creshaw. Creshaw studied as a psychologist
and understood how people thought and how they processed
information. She understood that given the massive scale of
the undertaking, news of the construction of BNXH091 would
get out to the outer solar system.

She believed that they might as well be the ones who
controlled the dialogue and shaped the perception. While it
was propaganda, the campaign did not provide false
information about the ship. Every holographic pamphlet
produced and disseminated featured exclusively true
information about BNXH091. These include its top speed, its
maximum torque, its capacity, and more.

Creshaw, a soothsayer of sorts, understood that the leaders and
the general population of the outer solar system would perceive
this propaganda as, well, propaganda. Lars Mueller and his
cabinet simply thought that the outrageous, but true claims
about the ship were bold lies or at least exaggerations.

Creshaw’s tactic played into the fact that Mueller thought he
was smarter than everyone else. Creshaw was gambling that
Mueller thought he was so intelligent that he would not order
the necessary reconnaissance that would confirm the
construction of such a beastly ship.

The sound of the photonblüsters was now audible. The noise of
the crowd continued upon its crescendo and would do so until
the ship lifted off. Upon lift off, the crowd went silent. The drop
of a pin would have been audible amongst a throng of more
than 2 million. Their prayers had been answered as no one was
entirely sure that the ship would actually function. It hadn’t
been tested as there simply wasn’t time.

The siege, orchestrated by the ruthless Lars Mueller, was proving
successful and the inner solar system would run out of fuel in
the coming months. For its size, BNXH091 flew gracefully
through the air.

Inside the ship, the first captain of BNXH091, General Neidemeyer
commanded his crew with the utmost respect. He was a fierce,
yet merciful leader. He was a man on a mission, and nothing
could get in the way, except for Veronica that is.
