SUNY Schenectady County Community College Welcomes
Former ITT Technical Institute Students
Students who attended the recently closed school will have opportunity to transfer into
relevant programs at SUNY SCCC
SCHENECTADY – In light of ITT Technical Institute’s (ITT Tech) recent closing of its
campuses nationwide, SUNY Schenectady County Community College (SUNY SCCC)
has announced that it will work with students to transfer eligible credits into related
programs. SUNY SCCC officials will evaluate any earned credits and transfer them
based on achieved outcomes.
SUNY SCCC features several technology based degrees and certificates among the
more than 50 programs offered at the school. Officials anticipate a generous transfer in
these programs, and the SUNY SCCC team is prepared to work with former ITT Tech
students to apply these credits to a program that best suits their needs. The school’s
technology programs include:
- Computer Desktop Support Specialist
- Computer Information Systems
- Computer Networking Systems and Cyber Security
- Computer Repair and Networking
- Computer Science
- Mathematics and Science Nanoscale Science Concentration
- Nanoscale Materials Technology
“SUNY Schenectady County Community College has an earned reputation for offering
the opportunity for driven and hardworking students to continue their educations,” said
Dr. Steady H. Moono, President of SUNY SCCC. “We are thrilled to be able to step in
and aid these recently displaced students in achieving their academic and ultimate
career goals.”
“It is with great pleasure that we offer the former students of ITT Technical Institute the
opportunity to continue their degree pursuits at SUNY Schenectady County Community
College,” said Dr. Penny Haynes, Vice President of Academic Affairs at SUNY SCCC.
“We are committed to helping these students find a program best suited to their career
pursuits, and look forward to welcoming them to the SUNY SCCC family this fall.”
SUNY Schenectady County Community College’s Fall II semester is set to begin on
Monday, September 26, and students may apply and register for classes until
