1. Improve Your Sleep with a ‘Sleep MOT’
Wed 18th Nov 2015
7pm – 8.30pm
Mirabilis Health, Holywood House
Holywood, County Down
Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout life. Getting enough good quality sleep can
help protect our mental health, physical health, quality of life, and generally helps us to live our lives safely.
The way you feel while you're awake depends in part on what happens while you're sleeping. During sleep,
your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. In children and
teens, sleep also helps support growth and development. Sleep is a very active process, where the brain is
far from merely being ‘switched off’.
The damage from poor quality sleep can occur in an instant (such as a car crash), or it can harm you slowly
over time. It can affect how well you think, react, work, learn, and get along with others. It has even been
found by some researchers to impact the quality of the moral decisions you make each day.
If you are not getting enough sleep, or are simply interested in having a sleep ‘M.O.T.’, then we'd like to invite
YOU to attend the following workshop.
Content
- The seminar will cover an overview of all that you need to consider when seeking to examine and assess
your sleep quality. Dr Miller will explore the research and advice, interpreting it for everyday application so
that you will leave with practical tools to allow you to more fully understand and improve your sleep.
- Sleep Assessment – there will be a self-administered assessment form that Dr Miller will guide the
participants through. A valuable tool in itself.
- Duration (7.00pm - 8.30pm) including time for refreshments and discussion.
