1. 1. Start the Administration Server (Admin Server), which includes Oracle
Business Intelligence Java components.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10541/components.ht
m#i1147966
Open an MS-DOS window and change the directory to
<MW_HOME>/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/bin.
Then, run the following command (which requires the administrator
user name and password):
startWebLogic.cmd
or
startWebLogic.cmd -Dweblogic.management.username=weblogic -
Dweblogic.management.password= the_password
Fill the user and password and wait till the message of the Admin
Server is in
"... running mode".
Caution:
If you start the Administration Server from a Windows or UNIX
command-line window, then do not close the window later on, or the
server terminates (unless the server is started as a background
process from the command line).
2. Start Oracle WebLogic Node Manager (Node Manager). Only for
Enterprise or Software Only Install.
You can choose one of these ways to start Node Manager:
a. From Command Line.
Navigate to:
<MW_HOME>/wlserver_10.3/server/bin
2. If a Software-Only Install type was selected during installation,
then a directory other than /wlserver_10.3 might be used.
Enter the following command (which requires the administrator
user name and password):
startNodeManager.cmd
b. Using Windows Services.
Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Search for
Oracle WebLogic NodeManager (C_OBIEE11g_wlserver_10.3)
and Start it.
c. Using Web Logic Scripting Tool (WLST)
wls:/offline> startNodeManager ()
3. Start Oracle WebLogic Managed Server(bi_server1). Only for
Enterprise or Software Only Install.
In a Simple Install, there is no Managed Server component.
Note: To start the Managed Server using the WebLogic Server
Administration Console, the Node Manager must be running. Node
Manager must be running to start servers from the Console but not to
stop them.
a. Using Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console (WLS
Console).
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10541/compone
nts.htm#BABIDGHD
Use the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console (WLS
Console) to check whether the Managed Server is running, and
start it if necessary.
Log in to WLS Console using the following URL:
http://<host>:7001/console
To see if Managed Server is up, navigate to
3. bifoundation_domain-Server-Configuration tab.
There should be two servers listed: AdminServer (the
Administration Server) and bi_server1 (Managed Server).
To start the Managed Server, if not running:
bifoundation_domain-Server-Control tab.
Select Managed Server (for example, bi_server1) and then click
on Start.
Repeat this step for each Managed Server.
b. Using Fusion Middleware Control (EM):
Log in to EM using the following URL:
http://<host>:7001/em
Farm_bifoundation_domain-bi_cluster.
Expand the bi_cluster node to display the Managed Servers (for
example, bi_server1). EM displays the status in the Deployments
region.
To start Managed Server: select bi_cluster, and click the
WebLogic Cluster menu. Select the Control option from the
menu, and select Start Up.
c. Start Using Command Line.
<MW_HOME>/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/bi
n
Example
./startManagedWebLogic.cmd bi_server1
t3://<administration_server_host_name>:7001
Example:
./startManagedWebLogic.cmd bi_server1 t3://localhost:7001
4. Start the system components (including the OBIEE components).
a. Using Fusion Middleware Control (EM)
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10541/compone
nts.htm#BABJFFJB
Steps:
http://<host>:7001/em
4. Go to
Business Intelligence-coreapplication-Capacity Management-
Availability
and start all (Start All), restart all (Restart All) or just start a
component:
BI Presentation Services
coreapplication_obips1
BI Servers
coreapplication_obis1
BI Schedulers
coreapplication_obisch1
BI Cluster Controllers
coreapplication_obiccs1
BI Java Hosts
coreapplication_obijh1
b. Using OPMN (Oracle Process Manager) Command Line.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10541/compone
nts.htm#BABEJHBH
Open a shell prompt and change the directory to
<ORACLE_INSTANCE>/bin
or
<MW_HOME>/instancesinstance1
To check the status:
opmnctl status
To start all components:
5. opmnctl startall
To stop only an OBIEE component:
Start OPMN only
opmnctl start
BI Server
opmnctl startproc ias-
component=coreapplication_obis1
Presentation Server
opmnctl startproc ias-
component=coreapplication_obips1
BI Scheduler
opmnctl startproc ias-
component=coreapplication_obisch1
BI Cluster Controller
opmnctl startproc ias-
component=coreapplication_obiccs1
BI Java Host
opmnctl startproc ias-
component=coreapplication_obijh1
Wait and verify opmn statuses by running:
opmnctl status
The OPMN configuration file is in the
<ORACLE_INSTANCE>/config/OPMN/opmn/opmn.xml
<MW_HOME>/instancesinstance1/config/OPMN/opmn/opmn.xm
l
Example:
C:OBIEE_11ginstancesinstance1configOPMNopmn
directory on Windows and specifies the exact environment that is
used to start each OBIEE system component.
