11. DISTRIBUTION REACH : With reference to the following link, we are
looking at a distribution reach somewhere in between the district distribution
centre and immunization centre.
PORT DDU national WH DIST TO STATE/PROVINCE & FURTHER DELIVERY TO DISTR POINTS
MODE OF OPERATION : The international freight company will be able to deliver the container load till the
identified central (national) warehouse at the country capital. We need to consider that as a central distribution point for
secondary distribution to PROVINCES and thereafter to the MUNICIPALITIES health centre.
SERVICE PARTNER: Local service partner will be responsible to plan and route the distribution stock from
central warehouse facility to respective region capitals . The storage and distribution further to the MUNICIPALITY
level will be controlled from that point.
RESOURCE PROPOSED: Considering the scale of distribution and penetration in the region, we can
propose dedicated VF resource in every VF Office to camp in the country Capital (and necessarily visit the region
capitals) during the distribution period. His principal focus will be to coordinate with the delivery agent on a daily basis
and monitor the schedule, stock and report . This individual would fall functionally under the VF Corporate Logistics
Dept. An earlier experience in similar operation is desirable in this role. Example: a distribution exercise undertaken
in Mali where we can look into the VF Logistics resource available in VF CA.
