The patient portal offers 3 main features:
1. See “Your information”
2. See who is looking at “Your information”
3. See who is allowed to view “Your information”
The patient portal empowers the individual to manage their personal
health record and control who is viewing their information.
4. Consent
Patients “grant consent” to
facilities allowing the individuals
involved with their care at the
facility to view and use their
record to better treat the patient.
The patient can see the list of
facilities that have access and
that do not have access. The
patient has the control to make
changes and agree to the consent
terms.
5. Audit
As patient’s take a more active role in managing their health care, the
patient will be aware and ensure their medical information is not being
viewed by doctors or individuals who do not have the proper consent.
A patient does not want their information to be used against them or
even have their identity stolen. If you had the ability to see who viewed
your bank account information you would want to see that information.
The audit tool helps you to protect personal information protecting
your identity and medical record.
6. View Record
Your medical information is retrieved from
NYeC every time you log into the portal
ensuring the information is safe and secure
with the NYeC computer system.
We offer patients the ability to navigate to the
section of their record and interact with the
results.
7. Download Record
In the event you need to download
your data to your personal
computer we offer the ability to
download the record.
We recommend the patient store
this downloaded version of their
medical record in Micrsoft’s Health
Vault for safe storage.
8. Proxy Access
Families have the task of helping each
other manage their health and records
today. As our parents age and have
trouble remembering all their
medications or our children go off to
college, our portal offers proxy access
for trusted individuals to access and help
manage their record.
9. Educational Information
The medical information within the portal has been entered by the
doctors and providers that care for patients. We offer these
organizations the ability to add organization specific educational
materials or we can link to generic sources such as
