Women Connecting
African Women and Beyond, AWAB.
AWAB 2016 Summit is the first event of its scope and
scale to be held in Africa ever.
Gathering 10.000 women engaged in businesses
across Africa and beyond for three days to inspire,
connect, learn from, and empower each other. We
believe strongly that at the heart of transformation
and growing businesses/economies lie not only the
right tools, skills, and abilities but also the individual
woman’s belief that
“Yes We Can!”
Mind Mastery!
“You cannot enslave a mind that
knows itself. That values itself. That
understands itself.” Wangari
Maathai, Winner Nobel Peace Price.
AWAB brings transformational growth by providing
a collaborative platform of knowledge and
awareness; connecting passionate, creative,
inspired, and empowered African women and
beyond.
If you are an inspiring, empowered
woman in business or leadership;

AWAB 2016 Summit
10,000 Inspiring, Empowered
Women Connecting
Our Why?
“See everyone you encounter as having something
positive to offer, to find out what that is, and to find
out where your vision and theirs overlaps. That’s
what true collaboration looks like” - Fred Swaniker,
Co-Founder, African Leadership Network
AWAB is determined to support women in business
by driving the collaboration and providing the
platforms! African business opportunities and
entrepreneurship can thrive on the wealth in
human resources.
African women in business are key in driving
development and growth to creating and
sustaining strong economies in Africa – economies
that flourish – economies of peace, health, and
prosperity. AWAB creates platforms for the African
Women and Beyond to make this happen.
“This [empowering women] can be a game-
changer for the global economy. But to fulfil the
promise words need to come to action” – Christine
Lagarde, MD International Monetary Fund.
Although women across the African continent
have made progress in improving economic
opportunities, they are still struggling with a number
of structural and cultural issues holding the
potential back.
AWAB 2016 Summit takes active part in changing
the narrative of women in business in Africa. By
letting women showcase their products, create
synergies with other businesses, connect with peers
and mentors.
By gathering to learn new tools, gain new skills,
discover new markets and show themselves, each
other and the world, that it is possible to build,
transform and grow a thriving business – also as an
African woman!
AWAB creates opportunities for women in
leadership and business to unleash their potential
and grow their businesses and careers.
AWAB is about Action, driven by the Afri-Can-Do
mentality!
AWAB 2016 Summit
10,000 Inspiring, Empowered
Women Connecting
Our Whom?
AWAB is gathering a diverse group of women in
terms of business size, cultural background,
experience and expertise. Change agents, senior
executives from the public and private sector,
experts from international organizations and
trendsetting officials/politicians are already
supporting the event and have agreed to sharing,
exchanging and exploring.
They will be joined by a vast majority of low and
middle income women passionately engaged in
each their business – some for sheer survival, others
to make a living and others again with an already
thriving business. All of them with the potential to
share, creating solutions and take their lives and
businesses one step further.
Our where?
AWAB 2016 will be held in Naivasha, Kenya – Cloe
to Nairobi. The three-day program will take place
on tented grounds providing space and
opportunity for presentations for smaller groups as
well as all participants at a time. Each country
represented will have a tent: “Welcome to My
Home” providing space for workshops, networking
and showcasing of products in a homely
atmosphere.
AWAB is creating the opportunity for the
participating women to live and breathe in the
vibrant entrepreneurial community for the duration
of the event.
Our involved women will
all be asked to commit to
their presence by
passionate and engaged
participation in sharing
their strengths and
experience prior to and
during and after the
event.
