Anne Fournier, ‘‘As an art photographer and videographer, I have been absorbed by the beauty
of candid yet heightened personal realities whose evocation of the human dimension is strongest when
framed by ritual and consciously willed, both individually and communally. Designing them for me is a
deliberate art-form and a meeting point, a highly rewarding way to make my living and allows me to
establish a deep contact between a land I love, the people it attracts and the arts and crafts involved in
planning and commemorating high moments of human experience.

Nafplion is a mere two hours from Venizelos Airport Athens. We can arrange to have
you and your guests picked up and brought to Nafplio, where we will guide you to your hotels,
organize your réception and arrange a full orientation and program description at your request
the following day, go over schedules, refine our planning, visit locations, etc...

After browsing our web-site and reviewing our literature you can complete convenient
questionnaire and send it out to us. This is the first step.
By filling out the questions, you provide us with the basics about your dates, budget,
number of guests, and give us an approximate idea of what your personal
tastes and preferences are.
This gives us the opportunity to start planning and conceiving a wedding
event proposition that will be tailored to your needs and desires through a
collaborative process that is the guarantee of a memorable and successful
event for all.
We put together a basic offer which we submit to you within ten
business days maximum. Then we talk... and, once we agree on the fun-
damentals and price of your package, we can proceed to setting down the
terms of our association, signing the relevant forms and agreements. You
then send us a retainer, and we are ready to engage in the full planning and design of your wed-
ding event, as well as your stay in all its aspects, down to the detail.
This includes without being limited to transport, lodging, the ceremony and gala reception,
activities and excursions for you and your guests, dining and entertainment,
guided tours... let your mind soar... Greece is a mythic land, and Nafplion as
perhaps its most ancient site, is a magical place full of possibilities.
You prepare and send us the official papers which will be needed for the mar-
riage to be made legal and we then book the date of the ceremony with the
Mayor or with a priest or minister of your denomination.
My associates and I have the capability to take care of all your reservation,
hotel, dining, party, services and activities you choose for your unforgettable

{ early afternoon } You leave your hotel and, depending on your chosen sce-
nario, take a pleasant walk or carriage ride through the historic streets of
Nafplio, or sail to the location of your wedding ceremony, where family and
friends await you.
According to your choice we can photograph or video the ceremony
itself, as well as your preparation before. Next step, the photo session, in
which the couple, their close family & friends help us create the material,
portraits etc. for the photo album.
{ early evening } At the end of your session, and after relaxing back at your
hotel, we then direct you and your spouse -accompanied by traditional
musicians perhaps- to your exclusive gala reception, awaiting you @ the
historic Bourtzi Castle, or the charming wood schooner Lianna H on the
Saronic golf, or the majestic beach of Karathona.

ros, the medieval castle of Palamidi and Nafplio’s 14th century old town, or Castro
Larissa of Argos, museums, folkloric social events, peasant life, agrotour-
ism, hiking, canoeing the Loussios river, sailing, mountain climbing in
mythic Arcadia, swimming, scuba diving, fishing, horse-back riding, wine

In the centre of the bay of Nafplion, a
jewel on the sea cradled by mountains, like an
impressionist waterpainting. A medieval castle,
reserved exclusively for you and your guests,
one of the historic monuments of Greece made
available to you at an entirely accessible cost.
You will be transported to another
time and place by the traditional fisherman’s
boats, that await you at the port, decorated
for the occasion. Once on the island the torch
and candle-lit halls, courtyards and terraces of
the castle welcome you into their magical at-
mosphere for a night of fine dining and cel-
ebration.
We begin with an aperitif - cocktails,
hors d’oeuvres, champagne- in the central
courtyard accompanied by live music, fireworks
if you like, and then proceed on to the Eastern
terrace for the sumptuous dinner prepared by
your chef.
Finally, we cap the evening off with
further entertainment, traditional dances, re-
betika... and then the castle is transformed
into your private discotheque-club with the
professional Dj spinning your favorite sets into
the wee hours of the night.

Here the program is organized into two dis-
tinct phases for you and your close friends and
family, the first in Nafplion, the second cruising
the Aegean and its islands. The sailboat itself
can be used for both reception and diner. Af-
ter the ceremony and photo session, we go to
the port where your boat awaits, and you sail
off gently while the crew serves you and at-
tends to your every need.

The highlight here is Nafplion’s most
attractive sand beach, Karathona. We have re-
served for you and your guests a place apart in
which to spend an evening of celebration and
fun, as soon as you arrive. Your guests will have
gotten there ahead of you, by fishing boat to
the small port nearby and then on foot down
the quaint dirt road, amidst the majestic pine
and eucalyptus trees.
A very special atmosphere therefore
awaits you as you and your spouse are brought
to the opposite port by fishing boat [orthodox
variant: arrival @ St Konstantine church], spe-
cially adorned for the occasion, where you will
mount two proud horses, for a fairy tale ride
down the beachfront, led by a fine company of
traditional greek musicians in folk ceremonial
dress. We can even arrange for the world-re-
nowned Peloponesian Folk Musem to provide
you with traditional folk ceremonial dress. Or
you can just opt for a more informal entrance.
Once arrived at the reception, you join
your friends and family in celebration at sun-
set, be it in the form of a more casual beach-
side picnic, or a more formal, or even creative
themed festivity at the traditional fishing
tavern’s picturesque terrace, or again at the
Utopia with your full light and sound show, DJ
mixing things up ‘til sunrise. You might even
try swimming in the moonlit waters...

Nafplio or elsewhere in Greece:
FOR EUROPEAN UNION CITIZENS
ñ Full birth certificates with an APOSTIL stamp,
translated into Greek
ñ A “Single Status” letter or letter of NO IM-
PEDIMENT endorsed with APOSTIL stamp.
“Single Status” is a document issued from
your local registrar and insures that there is no
problem to get married.
ñ Photocopies of passports (no translation re-
quired)
ñ If divorced, then the divorce certificate is re-
quired (no translation required)
FOR NON E.U CITIZENS
ñ Full birth certificates with APOSTIL stamp,
translated into Greek
ñ Marriage license, stating that it is also valid
for Greece-Nafplio. It is also recommended
that the marriage license be endorsed with
APOSTIL Stamp
ñ Or you can issue instead of Marriage license,
a NO IMPEDIMENT or Single Status letter which
will mention that you are free to get married in
Nafplio Greece and date of marriage.
ñ Photocopies of your passports (no translation
required)
ñ If applicable, documentary evidence (death
certificate or final/irrevocable divorce decree)
of the termination of a previous marriage (the
most recent, if more than one), no translation

CIVIL WEDDING IN GREECE
ñ BRIDE’S AND GROOM’S PASSPORTS
It is required that both parties submit their
passports.
ñ FULL BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Both parties are obliged to provide full Birth
Certificate. No short or brief versions of the
document will be accepted.
ñ CERTIFICATE OF NO IMPEDIMENT TO
MARRIAGE
This document is a certificate that confirms
that both parties are free to get married. It can
be obtained at your local Registrar Office. You
should bear in mind that it may take even one
month to obtain the certificate, but the date
of its issuance must be not more than three
months before the wedding event.
ñ APOSTLE STAMP (APOSTIL) -
The Apostil Stamp that can be obtained from
the Secretary of State of the issuing state.
Apostil is a special seal which is applied by legal
authorities in order to certify that a document
is a true and valid copy of the original. Apos-
til is being applied in countries signatories of
the Hague Convention, which was created in
1961, and which serves to shorten and replace
the exhausting and time-consuming process of
obtaining certification, when one had to go to
various authorities for one single document to
be sealed and certified.
ñ DECREE ABSOLUTE
In case that any of the parties is divorced, it
is obligatory to provide a certified copy of the
Decree Absolute.
ñ DEATH CERTIFICATE
In case that any of the parties has changed
his/her name by Deed Poll, evidence in written
form must be obtained.
ñ DEED POLL CERTIFICATE
If any of the parties has changed his/her name
by Deed Poll, written proof must be obtained.
ñ ADOPTION CERTIFICATE
In case that any of the parties has been ad-
opted, it is obligatory to submit this document
too.
ñ TRANSLATION OF DOCUMENTS
All of the above stated documents must be
translated in Greek language at the Greek
Embassy or Consulate and dispatched to our
office four weeks prior to the wedding date. In
case that the documents have not been trans-
lated, they should be dispatched eight weeks
prior to the wedding ceremony. In such case
there will be additional costs for the official
translation of documents.
RELIGIOUS WEDDING IN GREECE
ñ BAPTISM CERTIFICATE
This document is necessary for the Catholic
and Orthodox Church wedding ceremonies.
CATHOLIC CHURCH WEDDINGS
in Nafplio
It is possible to organize Catholic Church wed-
ding ceremony only in case that bride and
groom have not been previously married and
that both of them have been baptized. The
bride and the groom must inform the Catholic
priest from their local parish that they want to
marry abroad. The priest will ask for their Birth
Certificates and Baptism Certificates and upon
viewing them he will instruct them for the
further documentation that is required. Once
they obtain all the necessary documents, they
must send the entire documentation to our of-
fice, and then we will take the documentation
to the Catholic priest of the church where the
wedding ceremony is going to take place.
ORTHODOX CHURCH WEDDINGS
in Nafplio
It is possible to organize Orthodox Church
wedding ceremony only in case that at least
one of the parties is Orthodox and that both
parties have been baptized. The bride and the
groom must inform the Orthodox priest from
their local parish about their wish to marry
abroad. The priest will ask to see their Birth
Certificates and Baptism Certificates and after
viewing them he will give them instructions re-
garding other documentation that is required.
After they obtain all the necessary documents,
they must send the entire documentation to
our office. Then we will take the documen-
tation to the Orthodox priest of the church
where the wedding ceremony is going to be
held.
Other details
WITNESSES AT CEREMONY
For all types of weddings, it is required that
two witnesses be present. In case that the
groom and the bride are travelling on their
own, our staff at Nafplio Weddings will be
happy to offer assistance and act as witnesses
at the wedding ceremony.
DAY/TIME OF THE CEREMONY
-Ceremony at the Registry Office (Nafplio
Town Hall): from Monday to Friday, from 10
pm to 2 am;
-Catholic Church ceremony: from Monday to
Sunday, at any time.
-Orthodox Church ceremony: from Monday to
Sunday, at any time.
LANGUAGE OF THE CEREMONY
The weddings in Nafplio are performed in dif-
ferent languages depending on the type of
the ceremony. Civil wedding ceremonies are
performed in Greek or in English, Catholic
Church wedding ceremonies in Greek, French
and English and Orthodox Church wedding
ceremonies only in Greek.
CIVIL MARRIAGE VALIDITY
After the wedding event, and in order for the
marriage to be lawfully valid, the wedding
couple has the obligation to declare at the
Registry Office of Nafplio, within the period
of forty days, that the wedding has been per-
formed.
OFFICIAL WEDDING CERTIFICATE
The official certificate on the marriage is issued
within three working days after the wedding
event and forwarded to the married couple’s
home address.
