To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to take this opportunity to present my motivational letter to the Malta University, in support of my application to study The BOA Degree in Communications and International Relations - to commence October 1st, 2015.
I want to start by saying that 'I BELIEVE IN GOD, there is nothing more important!'
We are all born into this world with a purpose - a life calling - and it's no secret that we are here for a short time. Some roles are more challenging than others, however, I strongly believe that God picks his strongest soldiers to do his toughest jobs, and he made me strong and gutsy for a good reason and with that he gave me
bonuses to ensure I am adequately compensated for what's to come; beauty is a bonus, wisdom is a bonus and so is intelligence and I've got it all and I Thank God.
In the beginning I had to survive my birth. The doctor said to my father, 'pick one, they are not both going to make it', my mother was loosing too much blood and my heart was beating very slow inside her womb (and slowing down), there was no amniotic fluid left and I was getting cold. My dad picked my mother to survive
over me and he had to sign off his rights so he couldn't sue the hospital for my death, as I was not expected to experience life. His understanding was that my mother came into this world before me and has given him two other children and therefore her place in the family took precedence, as a key figure. What he didn't know
at the time was that I didn't need anyone one on my side because it was The Lord who picked me to survive.
When I was born I was cold because no one held me, while the medical staff were too busy working on my mother to keep her alive that they forgot about me lying naked in the tub, but God never forgets his own and he gave me a big hug that warmed my heart and kept it beating until the blankets arrived, and then the milk.
Well here I am now ready to give it all I've got to study politics, inspired by role models like Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first female prime minister who served three consecutive terms in office and was one of the most dominant political figures of 20th Century, and then of course there is Australia's own, Julia Gillard who
became Australia's 27th Prime Minister and the first woman to hold the office. Politics give people with no voice a voice and those who have one, the opportunity to make much needed changes in under developed countries like this one, a country that despite the culture clash, is very much close to my heart. I am a slow
reader with dyslexic traits (mainly spelling and spacial) and I am going to have to work harder than most, and I am hungry and ready for it.
The Big Picture.
I aim to successfully complete my three year degree, as mentioned above, and continue on to my maters for European Politics, Economics and Law. I aim to take the place of the Chairperson for the Commission of Domestic Violence in Malta after graduation, where I will be in the prime position to transform gender power
inequalities, promote safer families and respectful relationships, for the prevention of violence against women and their children in hope that together, we can achieve a working society; I aim to build/establish multiple rehabilitation centre's ('Trent-Esta') in the most affected area's where the number are at epidemic proportions
and on the rise (starting with Malta but not limited to the European Union), breaking cycles of abuse by implementing a similar method to the twelve step program, a closed entry system. I aim to be the author of a series of books that educate people from all around the world against family violence, combatting violence against
the hardest hit and most vulnerable members of our community - women and children - as a matter of priority.
Australia had a wildlife hero named 'Steve Irwin', who always stated that 'evil flourishes when good men do nothing', and this I believe. I am a good person and I want to do something, not just anything but something extraordinary that changes the lives of many who are in need, because I can.
One of my favorite religious hyms is 'here I am God…' and yet here I am at one of most crutial turing points in my life, eagerly awaiting to attend the scheduled interviews with the Malta Universrity on Friday the 17th of September, 2015 at 8:45am and 10:00am to study politics, at 41 years of age.
GOD SAVES THE BEST TILL LAST.
