Extracts from a slideshow by New Mexico's Federal Grants Bureau on the opportunities for up to 100% funding from the US Department of Transportation to plan or implement projects to make life better and improve opportunities. Funding is for surface transportation, including roads, trails, pedestrian pathways, bridges, physically separated bike lanes, and even infrastructure supporting maintenance for buses and electric charging. Examples here include connecting community areas bisected by a highway; needed road maintenance; replacing an aging bridge; extending trails to connect communities with trails and bridges; planning for train service connecting rural communities; and increasing transportation options and connections to opportunities in core areas.
