First store was opened in October 19, 1985.
The company was founded by “DAVID
COOK.
After sometime COOK built a $ 6 million
warehouse in Garland.
At the peak in 1999-2000 , Blockbuster
consisted of nearly 60,000 employees and
over 9,000 stores.

Blockbuster still maintains franchise
agreements with 14 stores remaining in
the entire world.
On November 2015, Blockbuster on
demand was shut down and all customer
were redirected to sling.
It has more no. of warehouses in US and it
was always in rising before “2015-2016” .
