IRS sponsored program
that trains volunteers to
prepare basic tax
returns,
free of charge.
3. Who can benefit from VITA?
0 Most working individuals and/or families who earn incomes
less than $54,000 are eligible to receive free tax preparation
assistance through VITA.
0 Paying to have your taxes prepared can cost $100 to $300.
0 *Some Restrictions Apply

0 Taxpayers eligible to
participate in the VITA
program may also
qualify for the Earned
Income Tax and Child
Tax credits.
0 These credits can put an
additional amount up to
$5,000 into the hands of
qualifying families.

6. Who MUST File?
Whether or not you need to file a return depends on your filing
status, your age, and your gross income. If your gross income
is less than the amount shown below, you're off the hook! You
are not required to file a tax return with the IRS.

To get a refund for any taxes withheld
