_Miami
“Party in the city where the heat is on, ALL night
on the beach to the break of dawn. Welcome to MI-
AMI!” The lyrics bounce between my ears each time I
being descent to MIA, which will surely result in an
extended weekend of champagne, late nights that turn
into early mornings, champagne, a new tan accompanied
by a sunburn or two, champagne, a hookup to remember
and possibly one to forget, and CHAMPAGNE. To escape
the winter blues follow the birds and head south the
Miami.

what to Do:
Art Basel is one of the preeminent
art events of the year not only in
Miami, but also around the world.
Modern and contemporary art from
both established and emerging art-
ists is showcased in this 4-day con-
vention. In addition to the great art
on display and people from around
the world that come into town there
are a slew of other events and par-
ties held in conjunction with Art Ba-
sel and it is an exciting time to for
both the curator and weekend mu-
seum goer.
The Beach. Miami is home to warm
and clam waters, perfect for float-
ing away the stress from your every-
day life. There are also a plethora
of beaches and water activities to
keep any visitor entertained.
Another great thing to do during a
weekend trip is attending a Miami
Heat game. It might cost a bit more
to pre party court side at the Amer-
ican Airlines Arena than in your ho-
tel room, but then again you also
wouldn’t be able to chat with Ga-
brielle Union about the best spots to
hit up in your hotel.
2015, SOBE Wine and Food Festival
will be held from February 19th until
February 22nd, and is the perfect
excuse for a late winter escape to
the warm and inviting sands of Mi-
ami. Foodies and self-proclaimed
wine sommeliers alike will enjoy this
event presented by Food & Wine.
In addition to gorging on tasty bites
and wine samples, attendees can
meet some of their favorite chefs
and TV food personalities from the
Food Network and Cooking Chan-
nel at the festival, or at several of
the Late-Night events associated
with the SOBE Wine and Food Fes-
tival.
Where to Eat:
There is a reason you have seen
this restaurant on almost every re-
ality show ever filmed in Miami. It’s
GOOD. Stop by the contemporary
steakhouse for its great food and
the chance to spot a Kardashian or
two.
Nikki Beach Miami, the flagship
property, has got dinning while par-
tying down to a science. Head to
this beachfront property anytime
day or night for a memorable din-
ning experience you might not be
able to remember.
A trip to Little Havana, located just three miles from
downtown Miami, is an opportunity to experience the
culture and cuisine of the large immigrant popula-
tion. Pick from several authentic Cuban restaurants for
dinner and stay for live music and dancing on SW 8th
Street.
How to Spend Your Night:
Liv Club at the Fontainebleau is the self-proclaimed
“home to celebrities, VIPs and Miami’s local party
crowd.” They do not disappoint, the large space fea-
tures private skyboxes for those seeking the ultimate VIP
bottle service experience, famous DJs to get the party
going, strong drinks, and beautiful people.
For a true dive bar experience head over to Mac’s
Club Deuce in South Beach, which is open 7 days a
week from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m. and features happy hour
from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where to Lay Your Head:
The Ritz-Carlton South Beach is located directly
on South Beach and is the prefect headquar-
ters for a weekend getaway.Located in a re-
stored Art Moderne building, the 375-room ho-
tel recently completed a major renovation ofw
of the property. The Miami property is sure to
meet all expectations of the illustrious brand
with its famed spa, million-dollar art collection,
and the only ocean front restaurant in South
Beach, The Lido Beach Club. This year in honor
of Art Basel and to support the local artist com-
munity, The Ritz-Carlton, in conjunction with
the Diana Lowenstein Gallery presents a be-
spoke bike share program of six bicycles fea-
turing artwork designed by local artists. Three
of the bikes will be auctioned online and the
remaining three available for guest use.

5. Choosing to spend your New Years Eve down under in the Auss-
ie capital will have counting down the New Year before the rest of the
world and make for a truly unforgettable experience. The list of sites,
activities and tours in Sydney are endless. There are museums, theaters,
the famous opera house, a slew of adventurous activities, and some of
the most well-known and beautiful beaches in the world. Australia is also
located in the southern hemisphere which means that while your friends
are bundled up next to a fire at home watching Ryan Seacrest, you’ll
be hanging out poolside or at the beach working on your winter glow.
One of the must see attractions in Sydney is the famous Sydney Opera
House, the Expressionist arts complex has been a fixture of the Sydney
Harbor since it’s opening in 1973. Today it is home to the Opera Austra-
lia, The Australian Ballet, The Sydney Theatre Company, and the Sydney
Symphony Orchestra. Tours are offered throughout the year and this is
also a great place to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a glass of wine while
overlooking the beautiful Sydney Harbor. Also in Sydney Harbor is the
largest steel arch bridge in the world. The Sydney Harbor Bridge, called
the ‘Coathanger’ by locals, began construction in 1924 and was com-
pleted 8 years, 4.2 million dollars, 800 displaced families, and 16 fatalities
later.
Today the bridge is a top attraction and guests are able to climb
the bridge day or night to experience amazing views and conquer that
fear of heights. One of the more popular and less crowded times to book
a climb is at sunrise, however this is also the most expensive tour and costs
upwards of $358 for adults. In addition to man made architectural won-
ders, Sydney is a great place to experience wildlife; The Taronga Zoo and
Sydney Aquarium are two of the most popular destinations. The Taronga
Zoo features Australia’s finest collection of animals, breathtaking views
of Sydney Harbor, and amazing animal encounters. You can have a live
experience with a Koala for only $19.95! Make sure to book in advance.
Aside from the attractions that are great year round, if you’re
headed down under for NYE you will be spending a lot of your time frol-
icking in the sand and partying. The Sydney coastline features several
surf beaches, and outdoor pools carved out of cliffs. Bondi Beach is a
top destination among tourists for its proximity to Sydney, iconic history,
and great selection of bars and restaurants. If sipping (or gulping) mag-
num bottles of champagne piques your interest, head straight to The
Bucket List Bar and Eatery located right on Bondi Beach. Sydney, like any
other major city, is host to numerous parties, events, bars and nightclubs
all celebrating the New Year. Whichever you decide to attend, you will
want to make sure you are outside with a view of Sydney Harbor for one
the most electrifying fire work shows in the world. It will truly be a magical
way to cap off a great experience down under.

Whether its something I use everyday, a travel ac-
cessory I can’t live without, something I take out
for special occasions, or a unique experience I’m
excited to try, here are some of the things I’ll
have in my suitcase and on my itinerary while trav-
eling this New Years Eve.
A gourmet home cooked meal hosted by
locals makes for a unique and enrich-
ing travel experience.
Perfect jacket to turn the jeans
and v-neck you wear to run
errands into the ideal dinner
outfit.
Pocket sized projector perfect for impromp-
tu presentations or throwing a movie on a wall
while traveling.
