camera – that of which you
control
• Controls the depth of field – in
focus foreground vs background
• Alters the exposure of your
image – light vs dark
• Tip: your sharpest aperture is
located 2-3 f/stops from the
widest (lowest number) point of
your lens
3. SHUTTER SPEED
• The length of time
camera shutter is open,
exposing light onto the camera
sensor
• Quick shutter speeds freeze
action
• Long shutter speeds create an
effect of motion when you
photograph moving objects –
commonly referred to as “long
exposures”
4. ISO
• The camera’s sensitivity to
light
• AKA fake light
• The more ISO you use, the
worse the image becomes
– referred to as “noisy” or
“grainy” photos.
