Recommendation Letter for Anastasia Titova Master's Degree Scholarship
1. To whom it may concern:
It is my pleasure to recommend Anastasia Titova.!I have known Anastasia since August 2013, when
she began her Master Degree at the University of Stavanger. She was the topmost applicant and was
offered a scholarship to pursue her Master. During her first semester, Anastasia took my structural
styles class and was also my teaching assistant in structural geology at the Bachelor level. She took
this last role with great responsibility, showing good organizational skills when preparing labs and
leadership abilities when running them for 50 students from two semesters. As a result of her hard
work, she achieved good marks on her studies and did a great job running my labs at the Bachelor
level.
In her first summer, Anastasia did an internship with Total E&P Norge. She worked with well-site
geology and formation evaluation, a topic on which she is doing her Master thesis. All her
supervisors from Total have given Anastasia very positive reviews.
Anastasia also helped to orchestrate a collaboration between the University of Stavanger and Saint
Petersburg State University, which resulted in a student exchange in 2014.
Anastasia is an open-minded and persistent person who uses her initiative and social skills to
construct solid networks. She devotes time to attend different conferences such as 3P Arctic and
NPF (Norwegian Petroleum Society) meetings. She is also a member of NFES (The Norwegian
Formation Evaluation Society). She is attending the LWD-measurements related meeting in
February. In addition, she is a member of SPE (The Society of Petroleum Engineers) and EAGE
(The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) and keeps up to date with current
events.
Anastasia has strong motivation to continue her education to be a highly-qualified expert in
Petroleum Geology. Anastasia is a very capable student and I believe that she will be successful in
your program. Please let me know if I can be of further help.
