Career Objective 
I am in my last year of Environmental Chemistry study at NTNU. I am passionate about 
environmental conservation, and I have a very broad educational background of 
environment and chemistry fields. I am looking for a career where I can devote myself to 
environmental conservation area. 
Education 
 2013 - 2015 Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) 
Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry MSc 
In the last year of Master study, and have the thesis project of atmospheric 
mercury and aerosol species in the Arctic. 
 2012 - 2013 Technical University of Denmark (DTU) 
Exchange Student in Environmental Engineering 
Have been taking mainly Master courses as a Bachelor student, learning Danish 
language and culture. 
 2009 - 2013 Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), China 
Environmental Science BSc 
GPA 3.46/4 (average grade 86/100), and was awarded Outstanding Graduate. 
Projects 
 Mercury in the Arctic: The roles that atmosphere, aerosols, snow and ground 
play on the mercury cycle at Ny-Ålesund. Sept. 2013 - present, NTNU & 
Ny-Ålesund. It is a long-term project in Ny-Ålesund, and my responsibilities include 
collecting mercury and aerosol data, making calibration and analysis. 
 PCBs and HCHs in snow and ice sampled in Sveagruva, Svalbard. Feb. - Apr. 
2014, The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS). Involved taking samples in 
Sveagruva, lab work and analysis at UNIS. 
 The Effect of Døråpner on immigrant Children. Jan. 2014, Trondheim. It is a 
project of Expert in Teamwork course at NTNU, involving surveys and interviews at 
several Norwegian Culture Schools. 
 Oil spill forensics on the islands outside Trondheimsfjord. Sept. - Nov. 2013, 
SINTEF Sealab, Trondheim. Involved taking samples at some small islands outside 
Trondheimsjord, lab work and analysis at SINTEF Sealab. 
 Sanitation and Water Supply in Uttar Chatra, West Bengal, India. Jan. - Feb. 
2013, DTU. It is a project application of conducting water supply system, sanitation 
construction and hygiene promotion in a small village in Uttar Chatra, West Bengal, 
India. The application involved stakeholder analysis, budget summary, schedule
details, etc, and it was sent to Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) 
together with the technical report. 
Work & Volunteer Experience 
 Aug. - Oct. 2014, part-time waiter, Kina Gården, Trondheim. Kina Gården is a very 
popular Chinese restaurant in Trondheim downtown area. I am working as a waiter 4 
days per week. 
 July - Aug. 2014, WWOOFer, Medtigården, Bodø. Was working in an organic farm 
of World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) and Norsk Bonde- og 
Småbrukarlag (NBS), and living with a Norwegian family. Duties involved feeding and 
shepherding the animals, irrigating and picking up the carrots, cleaning the sheepfold, 
etc. The farm got a wonderful harvest with my help, and I learned some basic 
practical knowledge of how to operate an organic farm. 
 Oct. 2011, Green Camp, China. Duties involved observing and recording the growth 
of several specific types of plants, observing water and soil pollution conditions 
around a reservoir, sharing innovative insights about environmental conservation, 
and conducting surveys to the locals. 
Skills & Capability 
 Teamwork. Excellent performance in multicultural and multi-discipline teamwork 
within both academic and non-academic projects. 
 Lab work skills. Most of the specialized courses involved lab work, which made me 
skillful in basic experimental instruments, e.g. GC-MS. 
 Field work skills. Had a lot of field work during the lab experiment, such as taking 
samples under extreme weather in Svalbard, or searching for oil samples in 
dangerous area around fjords, or observing animals of rare species in desolate 
tundra areas. 
 Computing. Skillful in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Basic knowledge and skills 
in Xcalibur, MATLAB, Multiphysics, PHREEQC, AutoCAD and Visual C++. 
 Communication. Advanced oral presentation skills and essay writing skills. Perfect 
Chinese Mandarin, og Snakker litt Norsk og Dansk. 
Interests 
 Environmental Conservation. It is not only my study or my job, but more important it 
is my hobby and life. I will keep concerning about the climate change and 
environmental conditions through my whole life. 
 Music. I love music especially classical music, and I have been self-teaching of piano 
for more than 6 years. From level zero in the beginning, I can play rather tough 
classical pieces now. This experience made me very confident, and strengthened my 
belief that nothing is impossible if I just follow my dream step by step. 
 Cycling & Hiking. Life is short and I love throwing myself into the almighty nature. 
After the trip to Preikestolen and Kjerag, I began to appreciate my unique 
experiences and cherish everything happens to my life.
