6WAYS TO BE PRODUCTIVE
OVER WINTER BREAK
Winter break may be the time to relax and mentally recharge
for the semester ahead, but here at the Twardowski Career
Development Center we also believe that it’s a great chance to
take advantage of free time and prepare for what’s to come!

1. Get Organized
With school on hold for now,
it is a great time to gather all
information on your previous
education, internship, and work
experience so you can write or
update your resume.
2. Write A Resume
Having a strong resume is vital
when applying for opportunites.
Check out our website,
www.wcupa.edu/cdc, for lists
of strong action words to use,
and resume examples if you
find yourself stuck.
3. Get Your Resume Reviewed
Make an appointment. An
appointment will give you a more
personable review for your
resume so you can cater it better
to whatever field you’re looking
into. Our office hours will remain
the same over winter break,
8:00 - 4:30. Or, submit your
resume online through our
Ram Career Network.
4. Make Career Connections
The holiday season is a great
chance to take the time and
catch up with those in your life.
Talk with your family and other
professionals over the break to
get exposure and advice on
various careers. Consider making
a LinkedIn account and begin
building your online persona.
5. Apply For Internships & Jobs
For either over winter break or
the upcoming semester, but
only if your schedule is
accommodating. Don’t take on
more work than you can, for you
are first and foremost a student.
Experience is very useful to
strengthen your resume and
gain insight on whether a career
is a good fit for you. Don’t forget
to check out our Ram Career
Network;; it is updated daily
with potential opportunities.
6. Explore Graduate School
Either on your own, or with us.
Searching and applying for
graduate school can be a lot to
take in, so if you find yourself
overwhelmed you can always
schedule an appointment and
we can help you explore options.
