Polystyrene Industries Limited is an indigenous privately owned limited liability company incorporated in
the Federal Republic of Nigeria in April 2010 with the aim of producing high quality polystyrene products and
other accessories for The building/construction, packing and agricultural industry in Nigeria.
The company’s existing plant which has been in operation since January 2002 has a capacity to produce
65, 000 cubic meters of EPS per annum on a single shift.
All products produced are made to client’s specifications and sold to various companies and individuals all over
Nigeria and the sub region the purpose of executing commercial and residential construction.
Some of the companies major clients are; Cubic Contractors Limited, Julius Berger Nig Plc, Salini, RCC,
Prodeco, Dantata, Crown Realties, Orange line Limited etc, who continue to patronize our building technology

6. STRUCTURAL FORMS
The structural forms are made by using
galvanized steel wire net internally and
externally with different sizes of polystyrene
serving as the middle layer. The polystyrene is
both resistant, light and serves as an insulating
material. The whole component is made solid
by electro-welded steel wire connectors.

3. NAKED POLYSTYRENE
Naked polystyrene is available in flat panels ranging

Compared with the typical pre-fabricated panel,
the PIL elements have weight approximately
between 4 and 10 kg/sqm and remain light up
to the erection stage, when concrete is applied
in order to complete the static function of the
panel.
i. Poly Strip – This product is used as filling
materials in floor construction to reduce the
gross weight carried by the columns and beams
of the building.
ii. Poly floor slab – A floor panel system use in the
construction of suspended/decked floors in
buildings.
iii. Single/Double Wall Panels – Used as load
bearing/partition and retaining walls in
buildings

Our architectural forms can be used to
transform the interior and exterior of buildings. We
also make moldings to suit client’s specifications.

ii. Exterior façade - We produce external Cornices,

8. The surface where the product is
to be installed must be prepared
properly by scrapping off all
uneven part and loose paint on
the surface.
1kg of PIL adhesive should be
mixed with 1.5ltrs of water to get
a good mix ratio. With the use of
a sharp cutting tool (saw)
product should be cut to equired
shape and length.
With the use of trowel or spatula
the already prepared adhesive is
applied gently on the surface of
the material and wall or ceiling
surface, as the case maybe..

The product is then gently placed
on the required surface and
pressure is applied for a firm
grip. Proper care should be
ensured during alignment to
make sure adhesive doesn’t
smudge on the wall surface.
Hardening time of adhesive is 45
minutes with a mix ratio of 1kg to
1.5ltr of water.
With the use of a paint brush all
the smudged adhesive especially
at the joints of the material is
properly cleaned for a smooth
finish.

9. EPS ceiling lamp centers are decorative products, that are easy to apply
and do not have any risk to fall down from the ceiling like gypsum
products. It can be painted to any color with water based paints.
FIX adhesive powder is
applied to the edges
with a trowel.
The filling between the
centre part of the material
and the ceiling is made with
the adhesive powder
extended over the edges.
The installation is performed by
placing the ceiling rose gently on
the area to be used and applying
pressure.

after completing the casting to
ensure an even surface.

POLY STRIPS
PIL poly strip panel is used as a filling material in floor
construction. Especially starting from the base to the
respective suspended floors of the buildings.
It fills around 35-40% of concrete area and reduces the
gross weight carried by the columns and beams. As a
result, the columns and beams dimensions decreases,
iron and cement quantity also reduces.
It also has great advantages in labor reduction and
waste reduction comparing to other conventional floor
slab products (hollow clay pot, bricks, autoclaved
aerated concrete AAC).
