students’ academic and behavioral needs through goal setting and achieving both
individually and in a whole group setting. Communication with parents and staff in the

As a new kindergarten teacher of an established classroom, I was accountable for the students’
progress and grades until the end of the school year. I created a community feel within a group of
students that struggled behaviorally and academically. I used professional judgment when handling
students with behavior and defiant disorders as well as other issues that arise in many classrooms.
I charted growth and enabled students to recognize their growth through goal setting.
