3. Origin of
yoga • Yoga is an old practice that originated in India.
• Derived from the Sanskrit, the “yoga” word means
“union” and “discipline.”
• The science of yoga has its origin thousands of
years ago.
• In the yogic lore, Shiva is seen as the first yogi or
Adiyogi, and the first Guru or Adi Guru.

4. Types of Yoga
• Raj Yoga – There are many asanas under it such as Surya
Namaskar, Padmasana. They have an inflammation in the
body.
• Karma Yoga – Karma means work. When we do some work,
both our muscles and brains are employed so that there is no
disease like obesity.
• Bhakti Yoga- In this, our mind remains stress free, we sit
somewhere in peace and meditate.
• Jnana Yoga – In this we do devotion so that the mind remains
calm. Many bodies related diseases also arise due to stress
