3. INTRODUCTION
• Global Warming is the long-term rise in the
average temperature of the Earth’s climate
system.
• It is the major aspect of climate change.
• Global warming and climate change are often
used interchangeably.
4. CAUSES
• Mainly greenhouse gases cause the
greenhouse effect on planet.
• The primary greenhouse gases in Earth’s
atmosphere are water vapour, methane,
carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, etc.
• Burning of coal and petrol by human being
also results in global warming.
• More and more greenhouse gas in the air, rise
in the temperature of Earth.
5.
6. GREENHOUSE GASES
• It absorbs and emits radiant energy within the
thermal infrared range.
• It causes greenhouse effect on planet.
• Without greenhouse gases, the average
temperature of Earth’s surface would be
about -18 C rather than present average of
15 C
7. EFFECT OF GLOBAL
WARMING
• Increase in average temperature of Earth
• Modification in the quantity and pattern of
rainfall
• Occurrence of natural disasters like floods,
famines, heat waves, tornados and twisters
• Melting of Glaciers
• Rise in the ranges of disease vectors
• Various new disease have emerged
8. • Increase in the distribution of mosquitoes due
to increase in humidity levels
• Effects the marine life
• Extinction of plants and animal species
• Effects the plant growth and farm land loss
• Serious effects oh human health
• Results in acid rain which is destroying natural
monuments
• Fresh water loss and desertification
• Human migration and conflict
9. REDUCE GLOBAL WARMING
• Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
• Use less heat and Air Conditioning
• Change a light bulb by CFL
• Drive less and drive smart
• Buy energy efficient products
• Switch off light and fans when not in use
• Plant more and more trees
• Encourage others to conserve
