environment or depleting natural resources, and thereby supporting long-
term ecological balance
My definition:
Sustainability combines economic, cultural, and environmental factors to create the
most beneficial outcome that also preserves the integrity of the resources used. It’s all
about trying to find a balance.

3. Sustainability in a residence hall
Lead by example: What you do others will see, what you say others will hear.
Recycling: Making it the norm.
Programming: Be ecologically responsible in activities provided to residents.
Creativity: Is there a better way or more that can be done?
Resources: Do they have what they need?
Teaching: Educate yourself then share and incorporate.

1. Top down: Hall directors and RLA should be doing their part.
2. Realistic goals: Create a goal for your hall, staff, or yourself to achieve
and hold each other/ yourself accountable.
3. Communication: How does UNT mean green? How do you and your hall
mean green?
6. Incorporating vs. Educating
Incorporation is action in your own life as well as in
programming.
Education is teaching others environmentally relevant
information as well as why it is important to care about
the environment.
