Question: James, sometimes I get nervous during the interview….any
hints on how to calm down?
Answer: Being nervous during an interview is perfectly normal and expected, but
here are a few pointers on how to overcome the nerves during an interview:
Speak Slowly – slowing down your speech with let you set the
pace of the interview, allowing you time to formulate your next thought.
When people get excited they tend to speak fast which leads to mumbling,
speaking slowly prevents that from happening.
Show up early – Show up 15-20 minutes early so that you can men
tally prepare yourself for what’s to come.
BREATHE – If you’re nervous, your heart rate will increase, resulting in
abnormal breathing. Pay attention to your breathing in an effort to calm
yourself down.
There is a saying that says "if you want to succeed, as bad as you want to breathe, then you will
be successful". Before attending The Allen School I worked job after job, which is easy for an
individual without a career goal, but when I was ready to really do something with my life, The
Allen School greeted me with open arms. With obtaining the knowledge from the great instruc-
tors, constant hands on work, and the assistance of the Career Services Department, I believe
that coming to The Allen School was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I can provide
my daughter with the life that she respectfully deserves. Thank you Allen School!

Hi my name is Janet Stone I am currently on a Medical Assistant Internship. Without the push that I re-
ceived from my enrollment advisor and the great support that I received from my family I would never
have followed through on school. I made a promise to my dear sweet sister that I would someday go back
to school and follow through on my dream of working in the medical field. I found that the instructors at
Allen School in Arizona were a great help in preparing me for my future career. They went above and be-
yond, to give all of the students a lot of extra information. I really do not believe that I would be where I
am without their great leadership. The ladies in Career services went above and beyond to help me find
the perfect internship for me. I am only halfway through my internship and have already been offered a job
with Concentra, When I walked in the door, for my internship, I thought there was no way would I ever
get hired on with them. I am grateful for all that I learned through Allen School, it gave me the tools to
succeed with confidence and perseverance . So from the bottom of my heart I just would like to say thank
you to everyone that took the extra time and compassion to help me succeed.
