2. GOAL OF THE EVENT
The goal of the Armstrong One Act Play Festival is to allow high school students to
showcase their talents and gain experience in a collegiate-style competition.
3. LOCATION AND DATE
• The festival will take place in the Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center at Georgia
Southern’s Armstrong campus.
• The festival takes place on April 23, 2022. Start time is to be determined as registration
for the event does not close until March 25, 2022.
4. COST/BUDGET
• Since the venue is taken care of and that is usually the largest portion of the budget, this
event will have minimal costs.
• Judges' stipend: $200 each for three judges ($600)
• Judges’ lunches:Around $25 per judge ($75)
• Awards:Three plaques totaling around $100

• This event will require a number of volunteers.

Flyers have been posted around Sanford Hall and Russel Union with a QR code to allow potential volunteers to
register.
6. LAYOUT
As discussed, registration for this event will not close until March 25. Until we have a finalized number of
participants, the layout of the day is a rough draft.
• Each school will be allotted 55 minutes for their entire performance.There will be a five minute break between
each performance.
• Modeling after previous years, the shows will likely begin at 9:00 a.m. on April 23, 2022.
• This is the first year this festival will take place in one day rather than two.
• Following the first half of the performances, there will be a break for Judges’ lunch.
• After the plays have finished, judges will meet to score and evaluate each play and the award’s ceremony will
begin.
• If we reach our goal of having six schools participate, the event will conclude around 5:00 p.m.
7. SET-UP
• Set-up for the event will take place Friday,April 22.
• Set-up will include:
• Setting up registration station
• Setting up dressing room(s) for participants
• Preparing auditorium- Judges table, markings on stage
• Double checking the functionality of technology that will be used
• We will be taking a trip to the location of the event four weeks prior, Friday, March 25, to
see the physical layout of the venue and do a walkthrough with our client to get a clearer
idea of exactly what they day will look like.
