A Vow to Forever
I couldn’t tell you why I loved her with just words. No combination of 26 letters
could do justice to the beauty that had been bestowed upon her. She deserved more. Her
beauty and grace surpassed that of queens. She was royalty and I groveled after every
step. I mean, she was worth it. All the time and effort. She was the purpose people spend
forever looking for. I was one of the lucky ones.
It had been five years. Each and every day felt like it would start over, flashing
back to the first time I laid eyes on her. I never had a problem with communicating, I
mean I studied it in college, but with her, four years of school meant nothing. She had me
stumbling over simple words making them seem foreign leaving my mouth. I always felt
the need to surprise her each day and Mondays were by far my favorite.
There I go again, getting lost in my head with her as every distraction. Dr. Ingle
was ‘supposed’ to be helping me keep focused. I would go to see her for some anxiety
issues Tuesdays, Thursdays and sometimes Sundays, depending on the month. It wasn’t
working because Powell Ogden was all I could think about. She was the one thing I could
always stay focused on. I wasn’t good at much, but I was good at her. That’s when you
know you got it bad. When you live in the suburbs of Boston and all you do is sit around
thinking about her.
I stopped twiddling the ring around my finger and grabbed my keys from on top
of the armoire. She’d be getting home from work soon and I wanted to sneak away before
she got there. Today’s surprise had to be perfect. It was Monday and like clockwork I

away. I liked to walk. I hated….
