About Me
Alex Levithan is from Montgomeryville, Pennsyl-
vania. Currently, she is a Senior at Temple University.
She chose Temple because the School of Sport, Tourism,
Hospitality Management earned the nation’s top ranking.
As a Freshman, she declared her major as Sport and Rec-
reation Management along with a minor in General Busi-
ness Studies.
Alex has always had a passion for sports. She has
had a presence on the soccer field since she was four
years old. Alex played competitively for many years up
until college. At Temple, she is involved in intramural
sports.
Other hobbies Alex enjoys are watching football,
rooting for Temple and Penn State on Saturdays and the
Philadelphia Eagles on Sundays, going to the beach and
spending time with friends and family. She has a Golden-
doodle named Cooper (pictured right) who she adores
and cannot wait to see every time she goes home.
Temple University has allowed Alex to turn her
love of sports into a career path. The knowledge she has
gained from class, along with industry experience, will
help her exceed in the future. Alex is interested in a ca-
reer involved in planning and executing sports tourna-
ments.
2. Industry Experience
In the Spring of 2015, Alex worked at the Waffle
Cabin. This was a concession stand located inside the
Wells Fargo Center. She was promoted to assistant
manager and became responsible for cash reconcilia-
tion and customer service.
During the same time period, Alex worked for
the Philadelphia Eagles as a Game Day Staff Member.
She scanned tickets at the gate and helped to make sure
fans entered into the stadium in an organized manner.
Alex continued as an intern for the Reading
Fightin’ Phils in the Summer of 2015. She managed the
Will Call window at the ticket office. Also, she partici-
pated in the sale of 50/50 raffles to generate revenue
for local baseball teams in the Reading area.
Most recently, Alex was an intern for Perfect
Game Super 25 during the Summer of 2016. Her duties
included obtaining team rosters and registration pay-
ments. Also, she assisted in setup and breakdown of
tournament supplies. Finally, she operated apparel and
concession stands during the tournaments.
Working in baseball, football, and the food ser-
vice industry gave Alex a taste of what a career in these
areas would be like. She was able to apply the concepts
she learned in the classroom to the real world.
Volunteer Experience
One of Alex’s most rewarding volunteer ex-
periences was being part of HootaThon. HootaThon
is Temple University's Dance Marathon, which rais-
es money and awareness for Children's Miracle Net-
work Hospital. Alex participated in this event for two
years. The first year, Alex was a member of the
Dancer Relations Committee. She worked with other
members on her team in efforts to raise awareness of
the event on campus and get as many students in-
volved as pos-
sible. On the
day of the
event, her
committee
was in charge
of signing all
of the dancers
in and giving
them a wrist-
band and t-
shirt. The sec-
ond year,
Alex was a
member of
the Market-
ing Commit-
tee. They fo-
cused on using social media outlets such as Twitter,
Facebook, Instagram to keep current dancers up to
date as well as encourage others to participate. Alex
went canning at multiple Phillies and Eagles games
in effort to raise as much money as possible.
HootaThon was able to raise an astonishing amount
of $280,000. This is the highest amount any dance
marathon has been able to raise in just it’s third year
of existence.
