Talk #4 at Time Series Estonia #2 by Alex Tavgen (Software Architect at Playtech and Founder at Timetrix) on How to grow hot peppers with InfluxDB and Timetrix engine
How to grow hot peppers with InfluxDB and Timetrix engine
1. How to grow hot peppers with
InfluxDB and Timetrix engine
Aleksandr Tavgen Playtech, co-founder Timetrix
2. Urban Gardening
• Plants and flowers bring feel of nature around you
• We live in a city in a northern climate
• It is quite tricky to grow some tropical species indoor
• It is necessary to hold microclimate conditions in a
specific range
• From olive tree up to peppers
3.
4. Tricky moments
• Every plant specie has own requirements over preferred
temperature, humidity, light and air conditions
• There are differences in different stages of plant life
• Seedlings and veg stage require high relative humidity
• Bloom phase needs less humidity and lower
temperatures
5.
6.
7. Sensors – Arduino - InfluxDB
• Analog temperature, digital temperature/humidity
• Ambient light, quality of air
• Data sent to Arduino controller
• Then written to InfluxDB deployed in Digital Ocean
