Mrs. Stephanie Williams
Director of Human Resources
Town of Halton Hills
1 Halton Hills Drive
Halton Hills, ON L7G 5G2
Dear Mrs. Williams:
I would like you to please consider me for the Recreation Coordinator position with the Town
of Halton Hills, which, was advertised on September 9th 2016 on PRO Job Mart. The following
position perfectly fits with my pervious education, experience, and career interests.
With being a candidate to graduate in the Recreation and Leisure program from Humber College,
I have plenty of experience using Microsoft office, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. My
program provided me with many practical applications and theory relating to Outdoor
Recreation, Recreation and Sport Programming, Customer Service Excellence as well as,
Financial Management and Leadership Experience, as you have requested in your job posting.
I have a lot of hands on experience working with children and dealing with program planning in
a recreational setting. I have four years’ experience with program planning with the Town of
Aurora. This will be my fourth year as a program leader, and in this position, I program plan for
all different types of recreational sports as well as supervise those participants that sign up for the
programs. As well as this position, I have also been employed with the Town of Aurora Summer
Camps for the past three summers. My most current role with the Town of Aurora summer
camps was Camp Director. As a Camp Director for a cooking camp I was very aware of a
financial budget that I had to follow, as well as, supervising at least 20 participants per week and
four staff. Along with supervising staff I also had to evaluate them twice to update my
supervisors on their progress throughout the summer months. With my hand-on experiences with
the Town of Aurora and my educational experience at Humber College, it makes me very
interested in the Recreation Coordinator position.
Please consider my candidacy for an interview for the position and allow me to discuss my
qualifications further. I will contact you some time in the near future to see if we can arrange a
meeting. If you have any further questions before then you can contact me at 416-388-3311.
Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Alana Fabbricino

Thank you for the opportunity of interviewing with you yesterday. It was a pleasure to
meet you and the rest of the staff from the Recreation Department. After our discussion
yesterday about the possibly opportunities I will be able to experience in this position has me
thrilled about maybe joining your team in the near future.
As I stated in the interview, I am extremely confident that my knowledge and pervious
experience in customer service, program planning and financial management will make me a
successful candidate for the Recreation Coordinator position. I have always been known for
being a very enthusiastic and hardworking employee and co-worker, and I can say with no
doubts that I can help contribute to the succession of the Recreation Department.
Once again I would just like to extend a sincere thank you for asking me to meet with you
yesterday and I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Alana Fabbricino

Dear Mrs. Williams,
My Name is Alana Fabbricino, I’m a 24 year old from King City Ontario. I know the
following page about me will give you a brief but detailed idea about who I am and some of the
things I enjoy doing.
Some of my passions include Snowboarding, Figure Skating, as well as hiking and
wakeboarding. I have been snowboarding for over 10 years now, I am also a member at Blue
Mountain Ski Resort in Collingwood, Ontario. I enjoy snowboarding and I try to get down to
Blue Mountain as often as I can. I was also a Figure Skater for 20 years. I started figure skating
at a very young age and stuck with it until I was around 21 years of age. I have won countless
medals and I’ve been all over North America for many competitions. Figure Skating still is a
very big passion of mine and I try to get out on the ice as often as I can in the winter months. I
have just recently started to wakeboard this past summer and it has been a really enjoyable time
learning a new sport. Also I have just recently taken up hiking this past summer and I’ve
thoroughly enjoyed being in the outdoors.
It is also hard to discuss what you are good at, but I would love to share my strengths
with you as best as I can. One of my main strengths is always being very patient. As a Camp
Director and a person who has worked with children, I’ve learnt the skill of patients and I’ve
applied it in my everyday life. It has become one of my most noticeable strengths with
coworkers and supervisors. Another strength I have developed over the years is when a problem
arises I keep a positive mindset and figure out the best way to fix that problem without letting it
affect me. I feel as if this is a very great quality to have as a recreation coordinator because it is a
very face paced atmosphere and you cannot let problems affect you during the work day.
Some short term goals I have possibly going into this position is getting off on the right
foot with coworkers and staff. I believe that it is very important to have a very fun and positive
work environment to make the job a lot let stressful. Another short term goal I have is it get to
know employees of other areas of the community so I have a good idea of who is working all
around me. A long term goal I have is to possibly start a volunteer program for the Program
Leader staff. As I have previously worked as one, I understand how much of a help volunteers
could be in the programs. It will also be a great idea for high school students who need
community service hours or who would possibly like to get a job with the town in the future.
I have a great passion for recreation and would be a perfect fit for this positon. I hope this
message let you learn a little bit about me and helps to make me a strong candidate for this
positon. Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you again,
Alana Fabbricino
