Promoted to Senior Tax Manager Domestic Compliance and Reporting after 2 years with Xerox.
Original responsibility included the review and filing of the consolidated federal tax return. In
2014 promoted to Senior Tax Manager of Financial Reporting. Manage 5 direct reports
including managers and interns. A majority of my time consists of provision/reporting, planning,
compliance and audit defense.
Provision/Reporting: Responsible for calculating quarterly and year-end tax provision.
Substantial FAS 109 experience. Continually searching for efficiencies between
provision and return process. Lead in project that generated successful process
improvements and controls that eliminated deficiencies, leading to successful audits by
PWC.
Planning: Majority of planning consists of international transactions. Most recent
initiative consisted of an accounting method change expensing software for European
entities increasing the tax pool rate by 4% and increasing IRC 901 foreign tax credits
claimed. In review of 861 allocations corrected an error apportioning 18 million of
SG&A to the general basket that saved over 3 million cash tax. Converted over 30 Xerox
subsidiaries into LLC’s minimizing state tax filings. Initiated major inter-company loan
clean up minimizing 956 and 987 exposures.
Compliance: Proficient with Onesource tax software. Integrated biggest Xerox
acquisition of Affiliated Computer Services into the compliance process. Experience
with foreign tax calculation (1118) and international informational reporting
returns 5471 and 8858. Oversight of quarterly and yearend international and domestic
2. tax provision, both foreign and US international tax aspects. Reengineered section 199
compliance minimizing time spent and exposure.
