This memo was written as part of an assignment for my technical writing course. Our objective was to write a memo to our boss, asking for tuition reimbursement for the course and show them how the course would help their business.

Subject: Reimbursement for Technical Writing Course
Although
we
met
our
contractual
agreements
for
our
metrics
last
month,
I
have
a
solution
to
improve
our
numbers
and
increase
productivity,
a
technical
writer.
I’m
currently
enrolled
in
a
course
for
certification,
and
tuition
is
$1800.
In
my
technical
writing
course,
and
have
learned
many
skills,
which
can
be
utilized
at
RedTech,
including
creating
deliverables
suited
for
wide
audiences.
As
a
technical
writer
for
the
company,
I
can
improve
written
correspondence
so
employees
are
informed
of
changes
and
errors
quickly
in
their
work.
Currently,
the
auditors
check
our
decisions
and
create
a
document
with
trends
at
the
end
of
the
month.
With
me
as
a
technical
writer,
auditors
can
focus
solely
on
the
trends
and
I
can
create
the
document.
By
creating
two
separate
roles,
these
trend
reports
can
come
out
more
frequently.
I
could
interview
auditors
once
a
week
and
draft
a
memo
with
issues
they
found
on
a
weekly
basis.
In
turn
there
will
be
less
occurrences
of
those
errors
and
productivity
and
metrics
will
improve.
Since
the
company
would
directly
benefit
from
this
skill,
I
would
like
to
request
tuition
reimbursement
for
my
technical
writing
course.
This
is
a
great
investment
in
the
company
because
it
will
improve
metrics,
productivity,
and
take
pressure
off
auditors.
