2. PART 1:
CREATE A DIAGRAM THAT
SHOWS HOW YOU THINK THE
INTERNETWORKS BASED ON
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND
UNDERSTANDING.

DIAGRAM
3. PART 2:
1. WHAT FOR
YOU IS THE
INTERNET? WHY
DID YOU
DIAGRAM IT
THIS WAY?
Answer:
The Internet is a network of more than a
billion computers and other devices. It is a
globally connected network system that uses
TCP/IP to transmit data via various types of
media, it also connects computers to a
service provider that helps us to
communicate, access and connect from any
other devices. Internet also is a larger
implementation of a local network with a lot
of protocol. We diagram it this way because
it’s how we perceive the internet works in a
bigger picture.
4. PART 2:
2. WHAT ARE
THE
COMPONENTS
FOUND IN THE
DIAGRAM?
Answer:
Internet,
Server,
Service Provider,
Modem,
TelCom Line or TV Cable,
Router,
PC and
other Wireless Devices.
5. PART 2:
3. WHAT IS
THE PURPOSE
OF EACH
COMPONENT?
The purpose of each component is to identify the process,
how it is shared and how they connect with each other.
Hence, to further understand the utilization of each
component, the following components are explained:
a. Internet Service Provider (ISP) - refers to a company that
provides access to the Internet to both personal and business
customers. ISPs may also provide other services including
email services, domain registration, web hosting, and
browser packages.
b. Modem – modulates and demodulates electrical signals
sent through phone lines, coaxial cables, or other types of
wiring; in other words, it transforms digital information from
your computer into analog signals that can transmit over
wires, and it can translate incoming analog signals back into
digital data that your computer can understand.
c. Router - is the connectivity device used to control traffic
and keep the network efficient.
d. Transmission media - are the channels through which data
is transferred from one device to another in a network.
e. Client - are computers that request and receive service
from the servers to access and use the network resources.
6. PART 2:
4. WHAT ARE
NEEDED TO MAKE
EACH
COMPONENT
WORK?
• After brainstorming we come to arrive at a consolidated
answer that each component work together when they are
configured in order to access the internet system. Each
component has their own function.
•
The following are needed in order for the internet to work:
Electricity
ISP (Internet Service Provider)
Switch/Hub
Router
Devices (Computer, Mobile phone, tablet, Smart TV etc.),
Computer Firewalls
Internet Connection Sharing
Network Bridge
Homeplug adaptor
UTP cables
Ethernet cables
IP Address
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
Domain Name Service – DNS
7. PART 2:
5. WHAT IS THE
RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN THE
COMPONENTS?
As it is defined, internetworking
involves connection of two or more computer
networks so that data can pass between them as if
they were one network. To enable internetworking,
several networking components are used. Which is
composed of both physical parts as well as the
software, required for installing computer
networks, (both at organizations and at home). The
hardware components are the server, client, peer,
transmission medium, and connecting devices. The
software components are operating systems and
protocols. Each component has a different function
but works as one network to deliver an efficient
exchange of data.
