Dear Selection Committee,
I am writing this letter to apprise you that Abbi Balk has completed a Marketing Internship with the
Belvidere Park District. The Park District employs many forms of marketing to communicate our services
to our customers. Abbi has successfully utilized her skills to work on projects in social media, website
development and design and marketing communications. Abbi is a hard worker who is dedicated to
completing the task on time. She takes the initiative to take on new projects, learns how to incorporate
fresh techniques and integrate technology within her marketing. One of the biggest projects that Abbi
completed during her internship is our 56 page, all color brochure that includes all of our programs for
our customers. The guide utilizes the latest version of Adobe InDesign CC and Adobe Illustrator CC to
design, layout and format the publication which is sent out to 21,000 customers. Abbi also used Adobe
Photoshop CC to edit photos for various publications and website design. During the internship she
attended a professional marketing meeting to help design commercial marketing materials and develop
partnerships with local radio, TV and publications. A highlight of Abbi’s was attending the Rockford
IceHogs partnership meeting who are the affiliate to the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey team. Abbi has
represented the district in a positive manner and learned all the necessary skills to pursue a career in the
field of marketing. Overall, I would happy to recommend Ms. Balk for a position in the Marketing field.
