We were asked to experiment on Photoshop to try to see which designs work the best. The recipe card
for the Chocolate Ripple Cake was the first one that I worked on, and when I had completed all three I
found that this was very basic and not very appealing. The colours were very bold and they looked like
they should be used on recipe cards for children. The font is blurry as I didn’t download it I just print
screened on this one. For the other two cards however I did download the fonts, and this came out
more professional. When I decided to experiment with the pancake recipe I decided to keep the
background white and change more of the other elements of the card, like the second page background
and the logo strip. This made it look more professional and it would be something that I would
consider doing when I make my own cards. I also found that using a different image as the background
on the second page made the overall card look better. I found an image from Google that I thought
would work well with the other image, and I made it fit the whole page. I then changed the opacity of
the image and the boldness of the font so that people can read recipe while still being able to see the
image. I decided that I needed to try something different on the last card that I experimented on. I
decided to try block colours again, and I used the image idea from the second card too. When they are
both used together the overall look of the card is better than the first card, but I still believe that the
design of the second card could be used because everything fits together.
